After beginning to read Kaiji Part 3 and watching Akagi at the same time currently which are both heavily tied to the game of mahjong, I've come to ask my fellow heyurians whether any of us have experience in playing Mahjong and if you enjoyed it and/or still enjoy it to this day.

Fair points.
Theres a version without the rain and I've been meaning to redo that entire rain/tutorial part because its so ugly and slow. But thank you for that feedback on how much that part sucks ass.

Making games past a certain age means I dont really get the gut reactions or feedback I used to get on flash boards because people are far too nice now haha.

What's wrong with my SSD? I just redownloaded this 3 days ago because of corruptions and it did it again. I backed it up on my HDD immediately after downloading and that copy is still good so I know it's the SSD. I've been seeing corruptions like this in all my anime and some music videos stored on this SSD lately. It's a 1TB M.2 Adata SSD that I just got 3 years ago and I've had other SSDs endure 6+ years of constant everyday NEET usage with no problems, what could be causing this?

Update: it's the RAM, not the SSD. A file I downloaded to the HDD had a checksum error so I ran a memory diagnostic and it turns out the RAM's fucked. It looks like the RAM is also from ADATA so it's still probably their fault. Unless running the CPU at 800MHz for a while instead of its usual 3.5GHz without changing the voltage could've caused the problem?

After swapping memory sticks around to different slots and doing multiple memory diagnostics I've found which stick was the problem and that the slots are fine. Now I just need to redownload hundreds of gigabytes of stuff because I don't know what's corrupted and what's not. Now I've learned why people recommend keeping a cold storage backup.

I got a prebuilt because it was hundreds of dollars cheaper than building one with the scalped GPU prices. After 3 years only ~$175 worth of parts have failed so it was still worth it as long as the expensive parts last a few more years.

shit like this is immeasurably worrying and I am genuinely baffled constantly as to why there isn't a filesystem that does checksumming or redundant writes (although it may or may not have helped in this particular case! if the data was bad in RAM, any checksum or redundant copy would be of the bad in-memory data... 😰)
