My new headset audio technica ATH-A990Z arrived, in combination with my dac amp it is very good as I never owned anything better. Some flacs feel very immersive without being too loud yet precise. Almost too real.

I am thinking on conditioning my dad to this audio quality, to bring dac amp and headset and my thinkpad to his place and let some flacs play. He does not even use a headset so I wonder how much he would be blown away by modern and easily available electronics. I am in still relatively cheap area of around 600-700$ total.

I bet I will use mostly touhou arenji that I like. I will get him lyrics in a slideshow and manually move them for him to enjoy lyrics as well.
I will show him touhou, get him lore of a given stage before I begin it, play through stages and after each stage get him some of arenji. I like to compare how much they deviate. I hope it will be fun.

My favorite touhou is cherry blossom. I will force him to watch me play and listen to the original, then a few arenji from the game. I bet he would be lost in how I navigate through it, even youmu did not touch me in my most recent run

I have no friends in college but I was once asked what I play and I responded that I play some old singleplayer games from 20 years ago, I feel shame to admit to liking japanese entertainment because I am still used to it being associated with the fattest nerds. In highschool when I had a few friends and they once asked me what other games I play so I showed them touhou as I play it. Just keep rewatching if you forget, the key to almost everything is just practice. I found that using DAWs (specifically the piano-roll) could help you a bit to associate the notes and stuff. Try making a MIDI for a simple song in FL Studio or your free DAW of choice.

This is going to sound super weird, but back when I felt that way, I went to see a psychiatrist, and he got me on meds for depression.
The meds did little except give me an excuse to act as if I should move forward. And move forward I did. I started exercising, stopped smoking, got my degree sorted out (finally). But that is beside the point.
I discovered occultism. And this is where it gets weird. It's not that occultism is the key to anything, but that it was the thing that really made my heart sing, and I didn't know it until then.
My point is that there was something out there that made my life worth living, and I didn't know it. You have the privilege of knowing what that thing is.

No, that's not the obvious solution. Where did you get that idea? The obvious thing to do, if piano is what makes your heart sing, is to pursue it no matter what. Now, if there are underlying issues that are making you feel this way, the first step is seeking therapy. Even if it might end up being useless on its own, just having the very intention of trying to fix your situation already puts you in a better position than you are now, and will lead you where you need to be. Like another heyurizen said, 6 months is nothing. It would take you 5 years of practicing 3 hours a day minimum to get to a stage where you could begin to consider pursuing a career in music, and even then it would depend on whether you're willing to dedicate yourself fully to it. Many people abandon at this stage because they want to have a life.
If it's really what you like the most, you should do it for pleasure, and not get hung up on being "stuck on children's level scores".
