What kind of technology has been your companion for a long period of your life?

I've had a 16 GB Sandisk usb drive since 2013, flashed it repeatedly with shit and yet it still works. I since bought another, but i keep losing one or the other in my room, so i end up using either one for stuff still. I'm amazed how helpful its been despite USB flash drives being notorious for killing themselves with prolonged usage.

i guess it wouldn't be uncommon here for us to want to live in Japan, but lets go past the weeaboo stuff and talk real for a moment...
People say Japan is so bad because of all the cultural issues, but personally I think they are all great!

"Etiquette and socializing is complex and performative". Westerners want 'authenticity' yet are also incredibly performative. Japanese people are knowingly performative. The only difference is the former is lying, while the latter is honest.

"Japanese people are polite but not very friendly". Great! I don't like overt friendliness anyway, very friendly people strike me as suspicious.

"Work culture is terrible". Most often said about workers who go out drinking after work with each other. I never got what's wrong with that though. As for overworking, I don't personally have much issue with it, it used to be normal in the west too anyway... still is for some of us

I mean i dont even watch anime or read manga, I just feel like japanese social attitudes really resonate with me, and I would be happier there. the only thing I dislike is i feel like there is more materialism, but lately I think the westerns are maybe catching up

We are a very introverted culture and if you want to make friends, good luck, as that would be impossible as an adult more or less. Connecting to other is hard as our society is a very lonely one. i think Amsterdam would be a perfect place to live in, as you doesnt need more than a bike to get around. Stores are close by and you can go to red light distric at night! x3

Have any other Amerifats tried to order things from Japan under in the past few months? Apparently because of tariff fuckery Japan Post is temporarily refraining from shipping things to the US until there's more clarification about policy. I read that DHL is still possible to use and chose that as a shipping method from AmiAmi, but can any others confirm?
