It looked to be the silhouette of an old woman with wiry, disheveled hair. Even though the light was on my room, she was just a shadow and I couldn't make out any details. It was just a black void shaped like a person. I didn't feel any fear at all, nor even the slightest bit of apprehension. Her presence didn't seem strange to me at all and it's like I was in a trance. She didn't communicate with me and I didn't say anything to her. I noticed I had fallen asleep still wearing my jeans, so I unbuckled my belt and pulled them off. The woman reached out her hand and helped me pull them down, I could even feel her tugging at the fabric. As I took off my jeans some coins fell out of my pocket onto the bed, but I didn't pay any mind to that. I switched off the lamp, and laid back down and instantly fell asleep again.

Only the next morning did I realize that something strange had occurred. I looked down and saw the coins that had fallen out of my pocket, still on the bed. It hadn't been a dream.

The figure I saw bore a resemblance to what many people hallucinate during sleep paralysis, one that has been dubbed the "old hag". Although in these experiences people are generally paralyzed, whereas I was not. Usually people also experience terror, and feel they are being suffocated by the figure, whereas I did not. The experience could be chalked up to a hypnopompic hallucination, a phenomenon adjacent to sleep paralysis. Or maybe, just maybe, it was a spirit of some kind. I do live in a very old house, built in the early 20th century.

In any case it was really cool and I'm glad it happened.
