From what i can gather the presentation of your last three videos is somewhat contradicting. With a title like "Mario Party's unbalanced 1v3s" i'd expect one of those 20 minute matter-of-fact analysis on game design. Instead, it's video under a three minutes. The way i see it, whereas long videos tend to be reserved for more expository, technical and neutral-in-tone explanations, while shorter videos need to be more opinionated, humorous and reflective of the author's viewpoint. Of course, that is, at best, just a general rule of thumb. ( ´ω`)

The greater issue here is writing. I don't say it out of meanness, but yours kind of sucks :sweat2:. "When a player lands on a square... Or perhaps, better a circle, i should say" it's a line that doesn't deserve to be uttered, much less given the emphasis you did. The rest of the video is indeed an explanation of why said minigames aren't fair, but whether you have a fair point or not, it's simply not a particularly interesting explanation :ph34r:

Creating any piece of art it's a question of style and technical quality, with the ultimate goal being the expression of an idea. If you want to go forward making videos about videogames then take a look at what VGDunkey or Yathzee from ZP/FR have done. Good, bad or indifferent, the videos they put out are distinctively theirs. They could (and have) make videos way outside the videogame niche, but people watch them regardless because the draw is their personality in the first place. If you want to talk about Mario Party's 1v3 minigames, that's fine, but do it your way :wink:.

PD: By "technical quality" i basically mean not sucking in more apparent ways. For example, your background music could be a couple of decibels down

Caution, this is gonna be a stream of consciousness.

When age comes up, I often claim to be older than I actually am, usually saying I was born in 1969. The trend is people pretend to be young, because they wanna be hip, talk to young people and groom. I assume. In my case, I don't want to be bothered by people sliding into my DMs, but it's also a wish that I was older. Maybe not that old, but still, 10 years at least.

I'm still kinda old as is, but as a result, I know what I've missed far clearer than anyone else, and I've been feeling this way for at least a decade. The chances I would have been the same person are minimal, my family circumstances were way different before I was born. But if somehow everything turned out the same, but 10 years earlier, I feel I would have achieved a lot more, or at least appreciated a lot more.

I could have seen the arrival of VHS, enjoyed arcades at their prime, entered uni at a time where discovering anime and Japan was more unknown, see the flourishing of the internet through limitations and thus more creativity. So much missed and only seen as a historical glimpse into the past. I experienced all these things, but right at the tail end of them. I know I'm lucky, but the door was closed right before I got to enter that paradise.

At least I got the 00s, but I wish that was the climax of my life, not the start. I envy the dead, but at least I get really crazy porn these days, so really I guess I can't complain all that much.

Oh man no kidding, certainly the kids today have it rougher now. At least it seems that way, overtesting, sloppy education, straight up plain exploitation into a system dedicated to slap them with debt before they understand money management. My hair grows very fast. The only issue is... it grows horizontally and not vertically! They get poofier and poofier, but the length always stops at shoulder-level. What do you recommend?

I use this shampoo which is for curly hair. Mine's are actually wavy, but I like them to be more wavy-curly than wavy-straight.

AE1 is probably the coolest, even if I think some of the later levels are kind of screwy with their level design

AE3 has a lot of cool ideas but a: cute girl is actually easy mode, several monkeys don't run from her, and b: while normal catching is made harder, all the morph upgrades make catching incredibly easy

AE2 was kinda just bland compared to both, if not a bad game from what I remember, I probably should give it another goo

I feel like the constant introduction of new gadgets breaks the pacing too much. By the later levels, when you have most unlocked already, it manageable, but the process drags down the early game.
The camera also sucks dick. Too cumbersome to direct and not enough draw distance for a gameplay based around searching small monkeys :closed-eyes:

the draw distance is what it is, although the helmets are drawn at further distances than the rest of the model specifically to alleviate the issue
