This is a little bit outside of Tokyo, but I found a effectively abandoned (although still functioning) zoo at the end of the shorter prong of Kagoshima. The place was kinda open plan with the animals. You literally could walk up to them and do whatever you wanted. Animals must have been semi sedated all the time. The facilities were dated, rusting and collapsing. It was well beyond it's prime and we were probably two of maybe a dozen visitors that week.
>>
That sounds more depressing than spooky.

Just "done" (i.e. it's at the stage that the rest is just writing config-tier "code") yet another compiler.
As I've taken to do lately, I wrote it entirely in x86_64 assembly, using yasm (wanted to use fasm but the lack of a good debugger makes this prohibitive).

The target language is a forth. It's a native code compiler with aggressive inlining. It works similarly to subroutine-threaded forths, except I copy the code (minus the last byte, which is 'ret' -- I'm careful that all appropriate functions have only one ret at the end and use flow control to instead mid-procedure) in-place into the new code segment (then I mprotect it PROT_EXEC | PROT_READ and it's ready to execute).

Another common optimization I implemented was caching the top of stack on rax.

In many cases (particularly call sequences with only one parameter) it means I can get native performance despite having the full dynamic power of forth.

Truthfully I would not implement these optimizations a second time, instead I would implement a simpler core (e.g. subroutine-threaded) and wait until the forth is bootstrapped to optimize (meanwhile, right now the next optimization I'll want to add is peephole optimizations).

I also designed the system so that the assembly code can be hoisted into the target system, so now I just have to write a bunch of entry records in the data segment of the program to let forth directly use the code I've already written in assembly, which will therefore allow forth to parse, execute and compile forth directly -- it is 90% of the way to already being self-hosted, even though no work has been done yet on the forth side to make that happen!

After that I have a few improvements I want to make on the forth system (namely with namespaces), but those can be fully implemented within the forth core.

I did this for a few reasons, including entertainment and challenge, but mostly because I want to use this as a 'backend' for a language I want to make that uses opendylan-like syntax for the frontend. The idea is that instead of compiling directly from opendylan to native binary, I will instead output forth instructions, then use the forth compiler to complete the task. In other words, the forth acts as an intermediary language (IL) in the virtual machine (VM) sense (where VM means shit like .net or java virtual machine), but with controllable JIT (i.e. consider interpret vs compile mode in forth)!

Now time to rest on my laurels and never complete this project, again!!!!

So Me-tan won't tell papa Billy about things you done to her, but Ichika-chan were raised differently happy Damn modernity! angry

There are 300 different usb-c form factors. I can't charge my old phone with my new phone charger or vice-versa even though it's all usb-c. Also usb-c very easily detaches and the connections are pretty sensitive, which makes it less than ideal for serious use.

For charging, the best port is the barrel port. It's the most robust and it can totally also be universal, there's nothing preventing this but, as you said, how bad modern tech is with things like that.

Even if we ignore all that, you're not talking about tech at all, you're talking about standardization, which is a totally different and unrelated topic. The advent of standards is always a mixed bag. One the one side at least there is, well, a standard. On the other, almost always, the worst technology is chosen as the harbinger.

Also enjoy your shitty chinkpad that cost 2x what the equivalent macshit costs while being built worse than a $200 shitbook. You wanted new tech, have at it.

What makes one prefer bald sex scenes over soft solo erotica? monapc

Is the difference lies in whether that person had actual experience of it or not?
Or maybe their brain works so good in terms of creating an self-insertion illusion? I think I had felt something like this once.

The robotshit side of Pixiv is FULL of that dull VAGINAl, anal fuckery. It often has a very cute girl but then it's ruined.

I personally like solo images the most, it's like the girl is presented entirely and exclusively for you, or like you're spying on her. Then 2girls, multiple schoolgirls, or 1boy 1girl doing something other than sex0rz. Secks images have to be really special or contain some interesting and otherwise hot elements to save them.

I can't really enjoy untranslated h-manga because of this lol
I need to know how they got to where they are

single pics, I can excuse because there isn't the time or space
but beyond that, I need a reason

still wish I could get subbed JAVs too lol, although I'm hoping that my Japanese study will eventually let me understand them unassisted lolol
