So there's a survey about digimon story time stranger. And they basically ask if a new digimon game were to be released what type of game would you like it to be. Now I think this is very exploitable? Maybe we can give them a flood of a singular lulzy suggestion. It ends October the 30th.

There are reasons, but it depends on which one you're learning. The biggest one is that artificial languages are almost universally easier than natural ones, unless deliberately designed to not be.

Esperanto failed (admittedly, if you look at the historical record, there was a lot of deliberate effort to kill it), but has a large userbase and is relatively easy to pick up. You'll end up talking with other language nerds if you're into Esperanto, too.
Interlingua is useful if you want to pick up a generic Romance language (and thus you'll also actually be able to use it in real life because it is explicitly designed to be intelligible by speakers of a lot of languages). It is also supposed to be quite easy, and you could branch off into learning a specific real Romance language from it. Unfortunately, the number of outright Interlingua speakers is fairly low, so you might not be able to to easily understand any responses you get when speaking it to say, a Spaniard or an Italian. Same shit applies to Interslavic, which is a constructed generic Slavic language and has similar design goals for people traveling in that area of the world.
Toki Pona is tiny (maybe like 140 words right now) and you can pick it up in like 2 months if you're rushing. It is definitely deeply flawed for general communication (some of the flaws are by design, annoyingly enough and could easily be fixed), but not totally without merit. It has a high userbase by conlang standards (not many people), but most users are terrible at it because they "know" it rather than actually know it and when you try to understand them, you realize they never actually did learn the grammar (which is admittedly a bit too simple and completely lacks any kind of guide rails). It is a great first step in a language learning journey though, because it exposes the user to a lot of concepts about how another language could work while also not needing significant effort to learn.

tl;dr:
shit's easier lol

>>
>I’m planning to create a website inspired by Japanese imageboards like Futaba Channel.
a lot of sites exist like this already, and most of them are deserted. heyuri's community is a rare exception, and it only exists because of the hard work of users and staff trying to keep it alive.
before you spend all that time making the site, you ought to ask yourself, "what will make my community thrive where a hundred others have died of inactivity?"
that will save you some frustration later on.
>>
im honestly just curious of how you're going to plan on host it
>>
>>159451

Yer right!!! sustaining a community is the real challenge. I’ve been thinking about ways to encourage engagement and keep it active, not just launch a site. I wanna focus on creating something that ppl will genuinely want to participate in, rather than letting it fade like so many others.
>>
>>159458

I’m still finalizing the details, but I plan to use a reliable hosting setup that can handle the traffic and features I want for the site.

The thought occurred to me when I was reading the reviews of some of the anime I like on MAL. It stuck out to me that despite the examples I looked at, being all from different genres from different times with different runtimes, all of the critiques people made of all of them are nearly the same. Phrases that came up often were "bad pacing," "bad ending/weak payoff," "too many episodes," among other things. These reviews are so similar and so vague I doubt you could even guess what anime they're talking about from reading them alone. It's all meta-criticism, nothing about the contents. Why is this?

Moving away from just those reviews, I notice this a lot in all anime discussion. When discussing watching anime, it's as if they just want to know how much time they have to put in to see the ending. The vitriol towards 'filler' is an example, where people put months of work into lists of the "essential" episodes of something like One Piece so you can avoid watching 65% of the show. It's the main plot and nothing else that matters, if it can't be easily categorized as an "arc" and doesn't serve the main story, it isn't worth watching. (I once saw someone ask for a condensed episode list of a 12 episode anime (;´Д`) )

Isn't it if you like something, you want to see more of it? Why are you so excited for something you supposedly like to end?

I know the answer, I mean. Watching anime is treated as more of a social status thing now and the more anime you've completed the more your peers will talk to you about it. For many, they watch something solely to mark it complete on their MAL.

Why even bother with this hobby if you treat everything you watch as a grueling time investment that needs to "pay off" somehow? I rarely ever see anything like this in other realms of otakudom I swear (;´Д`)

>>
I think people just always complained about technical stuff and wanted to skip fillers ┐(゚~゚)┌
>>
I don't read many MAL reviews, does unpopular stuff with <50k members usually have reviews like that or is it mostly just the popular crap?
>>
Something as long as One Piece will absolutely have episodes that aren't even worth bothering with. Filler in a manga, you lose 5 minutes of your life, maybe less as you start hastily scanning through it. Filler in a TV show, you're stuck watching it slowly play out but it does nothing for the work as a whole.

Bad endings and and bad pacing are really standard complaints across all kinds of media. It's not hard for writers to rush past interesting shit and dwell for ages on boring shit, and it's also not hard to fuck up at the end (which is the worst part to fuck up, worse than the start even). You see these complaints often because they're easy ones. Talking about the specific themes of a story and what you liked or disliked in particular is hard, but it's very easy to say "the pacing sucked and this shit drags" or "the ending is ASS and I want my five and a half hours back".
These are generally the easiest things to complain about in any kind of work, and you're generally more likely to leave a review if something has a problem.

...that being said, if you're skipping most of One Piece, why not read it then? It's way faster to go through that way.
Also, goddamn - you can knock out a 12ep in an evening after work, so fuck people who can't be bothered. It shouldn't be like dragging your ass through shattered glass to watch some goddamn TV.
>>
book review are even more retarded.
I read some and i didn't see anything but the most retarded take conceivable
>>
I think some people for whatever reason just don't want to stop watching a series they aren't enjoying. You can't even bring up the sunk cost fallacy here because if you don't like a series, you're probably not going to discuss it with anyone or engage with anything related to it, so why bother continuing just for the sake of it?

I haven't even posted in this thread but I will now.
You act as if people think AI art is at the same level as a fucking Michaelangelo or something. There's some retards that think that outside of Heyuri, sure, but I don't think that's what we're arguing for here.

Not every single pretty picture ever made has to have subtleties that comment on the human experience or some shit. Because that's all we here use AI to do, to make "pretty pictures." Things that are at least amusing enough to get a LOL or bonar out of people. Because things like ero and shitpost art isn't even really art, or at least it's a lesser form of it. It doesn't deserve the reverence you're trying to force it to have. Why are you seriously comparing naked lolis to fucking Dune? Like you have to be joking, right? :dark:

Yes, I know "the merit of human effort." I actually really love art and it's the humanity behind it that makes me love it. I think anyone that's not entirely uncultured does, too. That's why we aren't using it for that. We're using it to generate Nobue doing pissing gymnastics in bed and a guy flying around Wal-Mart saying gay nigger. AI is great at quickly producing a laugh or rope of cum. I find it more insulting you wish to classify these things on the same level as actual art, really.
>>
*inserts 2 cents*

On the topic of "disrespectful training":
Illustrations, music, videos, animations, games, etc. - many of which we have enjoyed or even revere - are often made using pirated software, stolen assets, and hijacked ideas. This is especially true when it comes to photoshops, image macros, flashes, etc.

Even if someone thinks they're being squeaky-clean by (for example) purchasing music sample/loop packs or paying for photoshop brushes, the people who compiled those collections almost always used copyrighted material that wasn't cleared

I believe that, in a perfect world, copyright wouldn't exist. We'd all just be free to share, create, and transform whatever we wanted, rather than risk getting pwned by some rich cunts who insist that ideas = property
>>
>>159316
before copyright it was a marketing strategy to gloat about how much you have given back to the original authors and plagiarizig was very shamed.
after copyright author have generaly earned les money from their books.
I feel that when you can easily sell an actual ownership of your story it easier to get pwned and ;
and at least early people kept pwning slightly similar things like mr marvel(shazam) v superman.
thankfully right now copyright is extremely weak so you can copy a concept and call it a different name and you are free to use it.
>>
>>159299
Hmmm

Your fortune: Average luck

>>
>have some parts of the original person who made it in the piece
so fapping to AI art is less gay than to art drawn by another male
>disrespecting artists by not training the models off of art of people who said yes to it
so it's like rape which makes it even better
>it will literally just spit out screenshots
>It cannot make someone doing original things (prompt an anime girl holding a sock, or a cup of wine overflowing)
