You guys remember those ARG vlogs that used to be kinda popular back around 2011-14 about Slenderman? Yeah, I know the concept of a bald man in a suit and tie being scary is lame nowadays - idk how they got away with playing that seriously back then - but hear me out for a second. Said ARGs usually start off with a premise of a startup channel about something mundane like exercise tips or reuploads of some archived tapes. So the protagonists are at least semi-skeptical in the beginning about their predicament with some eldritch thing stalking them. Well, not to poke fun specifically at conspiracy theorists, but in the modern era it's easier for such people to share their views on teh internets and in rarer cases you come across some people who are even more outlandish than that. So I was thinking what if the protagonist was like... Terry Davis. Just some dude totally living inside his own head, convinced that the world/government/aliens are out to get him. And his YouTube channel is his vlog about his crazy theories about how his tap water is full of nanomachine cameras or that government agents are slipping PENIS-shrinking pills in his coffee. But the twist is that he doesn't notice the actual spooky happenings he catches on camera the entire time. Until it's too late.
