I deeply miss the crafty and niche aspect of otaku culture, subcultures that arent mainstream, maybe offensive, and a focus around the creative aspects of otaku culture as well. It was truly a spirit that came from the heart and wasnt afraid about being socially acceptable. (´ー` )

Nowadays its all sanitized, and consumer oriented, rarely do i hear about people making things.
In the early days of otaku culture people made a lot of things themselves, because merch simply wasnt available - figures for example, dojin games, etc.

How on earth do you facilitate the desire for people to create that kind of environment, i think the demand is there but not enough people know what to DO, how to MAKE things, how to form communities centered around niche subjects, how do we fix that?

When people bring up 'The Jewish Holocaust' from now on you'll have to ask 'the one they suffered or the one they caused?' :xd::sweat2::dance2:

Go back to 4chan. Also why would people call it "The Jewish holocaust" if it is Gazans dying
>>
>>153853
If someone said "the German holocaust", you would understand it as the time the Germans caused a holocaust.
It follows that it's possible to interpret "the Jewish holocaust" as the time the Jews caused a holocaust.
>>
>>153856
No one says German holocaust, people just say the holocaust. Also by this logic it should be the "israeli holocaust", not everyone in israel is a jew, and not all jews live in israel

This is the quality discussion I come here for. I’d rather never have an erection again, because prolonged erections can cause blood flow issues resulting in cells dying. In extreme cases (like this scenario would be) it can require amputation, and I’d rather have a useless dick than no dick at all

Last time 'Mericans dressed half decent at school was in the 70s. Some people express nostalgia for the 80s but by then people had already moved into shapeless sweaters and baggy jeans, assuming they weren't 'alternative' types who dressed even shittier.

spin the wheel https://spinthewheel.app/airlines

go to flightradar and search that airline

there there are no active flights respin

if there is more than 1 active flight use a random number generator to pick which flight (ex: if there are 38 active flights roll a random number between 1 and 38)

It was a test this time. People started to read past the global messages for events like cytube streams, so I'll test out this warning for future events :nyaoo-closedeyes:
>>
One thing about the global message is that you need to make it bold (<strong> tags are provided by default for this purpose), and perhaps increase the font-size depending on the urgency/immediacy of the message

On Windows, the default Sakomoto theme uses MS PGothic - a single pixel-wide red (#ff0000) font on a warm-white (#ffffee) background is quite difficult to see and read. It doesn't jump out at you the way a slightly thicker font would

Lounge@Heyuri
Hi Heyuri,

Is it common to see people online complaining about how other people "take the easy way out"? If so, why?

To elaborate, I'll start with an example from Minecraft. It is possible to change certain "gamerules" that affect mechanics in "Survival Mode". One of them is "keepInventory", which makes it so when your character dies, the items in your current inventory are not dropped but kept on you when you respawn. This makes it so if you die to an enemy, you do not have to return to the place you died or start over.

By default, keepInventory is set to off, meaning items are dropped on death. Some players choose to turn it on: their reason being it makes the game more "enjoyable" to them. However, some online commenters screech at this notion, crying out "Cheater!", "No Skill!1!1", "Why don't you just use "Creative" and give yourself all the endgame gear?!?!1!!1!one" and other related expressions. I would like your best guesses as to why this happens.

Another example: I am certain you are familiar with FromSoftware's famous series "Dark Souls" and their latest game "Elden Ring". In those games, you are able to use an ability to create a computer-controlled ally that can help you fight difficult enemies (commonly referred to as "summons"). In forums for these games, a fairly frequent reply to a post about enjoying the game with summons has the general theme of "You are a no-skill shitter. Why did you spend $60 to have the game play itself for you? You should play only with melee weapons like us, because that's what Miyazaki intended." Do note that "Miyazaki" refers to the games' director, who would have likely had a say in what mechanics were included in each game and how strong they were relative to other options.

A final example, though slightly controversial: the topic of "AI" """art""" posted on the internet. I do not like to use the term "art", as it carries certain value biases that seem extremely prevalent online. I will choose to refer to these as "images" or "drawings", regardless of whether they utilized "AI" or used software created prior to 2012. I will also extend this condition to physical media, including sketches with graphite on paper.

Now, I am sure you have noticed an abundance of "images" and "drawings" posted by people online with the help of "AI" software. A significant portion (though I do not claim they are a majority) are posted with the general theme "Check out this cool thing I made with AI! This is really fun! Does anyone else like

being pacified by entertainment devices is taking the easy way out of life instead of just raping girls, stealing stuff and then dying in a shootout with the cops like a real man
>>
It's probably human nature that makes us look for people to belittle so we feel superior, but I think that overcoming hardships and suffering to achieve something makes that achivement even more valuable and I would argue this is true for most people, however people forget that not everyone is into something for the same reason.
