I had a similar bug once, I think it may be caused by a faulty spawn point. If you play on 32bit system there's a big chance for a random error to overflow the mob value, bringing it back to zero. And zero is the player character, so it just spawns the player model. I don't think it's anything to worry about, you'll just have to get used to your new neighbour
