Go back 20 years. I was a fresh faced middle schooler, just entering my teen years. I had a gang of friends (we are all boys). We were always getting into trouble, and we were feared by other kids and even by the teachers. I was a little heavier then, and quite a bit taller than my peers, so I was physically strong enough to easily overpower most of my classmates and even some of the older teachers

There was this one girl and her friends that we always liked to pick on. She had a bigger nose than usual and we called her names like "the duck" and called her nose a bill. Sometimes we drew ugly pictures on her desk.

She always took it quietly and didnt even look at us. Thats what your supposed to do when your being bullied, right?

It only made me angrier :dark:

We started escalating our bullying. I started tearing up her papers in front of her to see her reaction. She would beg us to stop but I didnt. I liked that she was finally giving us a reaction

I also started pulling her hair and kicking her, spitting on her. Sometimes we would steal her shoes and throw them in the toilet. She would have to wear stinky toilet-water-soaked shoes all day

One day we pulled an incident that ended up getting me suspended from school (and got her moved to another school)

Before summer break, the school was planning to hold a big dance/performance. She was picked to be one of the dancers, and she was super excited about it. We saw her packing her uniforms... and even today I regret what I did

She always had very long hair. We took some scissors. I pinned her down while my friend cut off her hair. We drew on her face with markers and then, again, shoved all her dance clothes in the toilet. Then we beat her up a little and left in the bathroom, hair cut off, face smeared, and clothes torn.

Somehow we got found out. She had never reported us before out of fear of reprisal... but I guess she did this time.

I got suspended and my parents were told I almost got criminally charged, but it never happened :dark:

I was watching a few of this guy's videos and they're all centered around "Social Media Bad", which has been obvious for more than a decade. His assertion is that insecure young people on SNS websites see videos of other insecure young people and then mirror their bad behaviors. I'm annoyed that the popularity of SNS websites mean that people that are normal fucked-up from IRL circumstances are suddenly lumped in with a bunch of overgrown children that fell for obverse peer pressure. I only still use YouTube (most video sites, really) because of yt-dlp and uBlock Origin and similar, although I will say that video discoverability has gone straight to hell in the past 5 years.
Being able to build a big media library of shit I actually want to watch and listen to has been great, and I probably wouldn't have bothered if YouTube hadn't shit the bed so hard.

libretube is kinda useful as a frontend if you're on mobile, and supports downloads
annoyingly, it won't mux all the pieces into one file, I'll need to go do some ffmpeg magic if I want to export the files I downloaded off of the phone
it has a lot of problems, but it's infinitely better versus using YouTube directly while on the go

Pis function better if you treat them as FPGAs with more features, not as a useful server. If you need a small computer to not be seen because you're deploying it outside, that's what they're best at. Otherwise they're a hassle.

It was legit. Something inside me failed sooner than I hoped. I will beg for lamotrigine since my mood swings like bipolar as well and it helps with migraine and static noise visuals, some antidepressants might help but there is so many of them that the doc will guess them just like me until something works, if they don't then klonopin. Klonopin seems to improve it with recent papers but I don't wanna cure a drug with another drug. Anti convulstans seem to ease visuals. Though honestly I feel very depressed and I am sure the origin is chemical. Two days ago I felt like a deity for two hours and everything mostly receeded, I went to sleep and woke up to static instead of wobbly vision and euforia was gone. My friend who does psychology says I am the most bipolar example of bipolar. I am still of good hope since everything slowly but eventually seems to improve, my vision was worse earlier today.

Evolution of my symptoms feels like coming off LSD. Migraine like visual disturbances and palinopsia are the first things you notice on an LSD comeup. Palinopsia during comeup is probably responsible for that low FPS vision alongside smooth vision, and since they are the first things that appear they might be last things before recovery (or I never recover getting stuck on them :xd:).

I think I forgot to breathe today, I had to take a big sudden breath because I genuinely forgot to breathe in bed or so I think :nyaoo2:

Antidepressants aren't just "guessed" until they work, psychiatry is science, there's a method to the progressive "strengthening " of antidepressants...
It'll begin with Sertraline, the most widely studied & generic antidepressant of them all... And if you're really fucked (which I sincerely hope you're not!) 7 prescriptions & 7 months later you might find yourself on first generation 1950s lobotomizer Monoamine oxidase inhibitors which are essentially only given to people with extreme manic depression now (they'll straight up kill you if you take them alongside ANY other psychiatric medication)

Pop_OS! has a problem with being Ubuntu-based, so package management is all over the place.... HOWEVERRRR it is also the birthplace of COSMIC, which is already a better desktop environment than GNOME and is shaping up to be the second best desktop environment after KDE.... So I'd absolutely recommend it for power-users who do a lot of work or stuff like 3DCG & programming

It's also quite secure for a desktop environment, full adoption of Wayland portalling & entirely written in memory-safe languages, so feds can't take advantage of RCEs in public WiFi to keylog ur poop&shit and find out who you are and where you live :banana:
