Anyone here been to Spanish speaking countries in South America? I learned Russian when I was a teenager cause I was a Russophile and I thought I would be able to travel throughout the whole post Soviet Union with it, while this is true, the truth is that tickets there from America are extremely expensive and unless you're going to Central Asia (where I did live), its hard to navigate the countries without having to pass through Russia which for an American is worrying (just as worrying as getting picked up by FSB as getting picked up at the returning airport and interrogated why I visited a hostile country).

Therefore, I've been wanting to learn Spanish. I can get a roundtrip ticket from my local airport to Lima, Peru for less than $500. My dad went to Ecuador once and said it was awesome. I've read half a dozen books about Europeans buying a car in Spain, traveling around Africa and then selling it in Morocco when they were done. I figure I could do a similar thing, buy a 125cc motorcycle in the city, fuck off to the Amazonian areas for a week or two then come back, sell the bike and then come back home.

I would have to learn Spanish of course, but this already is proving way easier than Russian ever did. Plus I am doing a TESOL minor so I have the opportunity after next semester to teach English in Puebla state, Mexico so I'm sure I could get a lot of immersion there.

It's so annoying that normalfags have essentially been making problems for themselves for the past five years. I was watching a few of this guy's videos and they're all centered around "Social Media Bad", which has been obvious for more than a decade. His assertion is that insecure young people on SNS websites see videos of other insecure young people and then mirror their bad behaviors. I'm annoyed that the popularity of SNS websites mean that people that are normal fucked-up from IRL circumstances are suddenly lumped in with a bunch of overgrown children that fell for obverse peer pressure. I only still use YouTube (most video sites, really) because of yt-dlp and uBlock Origin and similar, although I will say that video discoverability has gone straight to hell in the past 5 years.
Being able to build a big media library of shit I actually want to watch and listen to has been great, and I probably wouldn't have bothered if YouTube hadn't shit the bed so hard.

libretube is kinda useful as a frontend if you're on mobile, and supports downloads
annoyingly, it won't mux all the pieces into one file, I'll need to go do some ffmpeg magic if I want to export the files I downloaded off of the phone
it has a lot of problems, but it's infinitely better versus using YouTube directly while on the go

old-school western animation was good, even hyper-cheap Hanna Barbera stuff
then the 70s happened, pretty much nothing western from that era looks good
things recovered for a bit in the late 80s, into the 90s

then the mid 2000s happened and even if shows didn't literally use flash, they might as well have
things never recovered since then


western 3DCG animation has always been pretty good, but it has also always been less stylish than 2D animation

I remember being impressed at how good SWAT Kats looked back in the day... and they animated it in Korea and Japan lmao.

Half & half has a little sodium in it so it lasts longer. Also put it further back in the fridge instead of in the door, and set the fridge temperature lower and it should last a few months. Careful not to let it get frosty in front of a cold air vent though.
