Before covid my job was a scenic, 22 minute drive from my home. I worked from home during covid, and afterwards took a new job in the city. I now take a 45 minute bus ride to work, so I spend 90 minutes a day commuting. I don't even get paid for that!

But whats worse, I'm looking at a new job this summer, it's a lot better pay, almost double, but its 1hr 20 minutes train from my home! The fares would cost almost 300€ a month too... but my employer will subsidize transportation costs.

Should I take this new job? How can I make the most of spending 16 hours a week on trains?

About a 10 minute walk.
I live in an urban area and the restaurant I work at is just down the road.
A long train commute isn't so bad if you can sit down and play games or watch anime on the phone, but if it's crowded and you have to stand it's hell.
