Often I will start a torrent, and it will instantly start using 100% of my disk write capacity. My computer will become unusable until I shut down the torrent. This only happens with some torrents though, not all. I've noticed this seems to happen most with more recent (2020 or later) movies.

I suspect that the copyright owners are seeding torrents with some kind of defective information that fucks up your client to deter piracy. :furious: I've looked it up and haven't found any solutions. Does anyone else experience this, or know what is going on? :unsure:

Maybe the torrent is downloading faster than your disk can handle? Have you tried limiting the download speed or reducing maximum number of peers per torrent in settings?

Also, setting a lower IO priority for the torrent client's process might help make your computer more responsive while torrenting.

I have really fast internet but a shit computer. With deluge I was downloading at like 10 mbps which is way faster than the ones that worked on Transmission, but didn't have any problems. Maybe Deluge is more efficient or something idk.
