Does anyone have any travel experience in South Asia? I would love to visit somewhere in India/Pakistan/Bangladesh/Myanmar but the cost of tickets from the US are minimum $1600 USD so it has to be an eventful trip to justify especially since I'm poor sweat3

i think the heyuri-iruyeh interaction is a lot like dante and vergil from devil may cry, except for the fact that they have swapped personalities: iruyeh is loud and mischievous while heyuri is calm and collected

Framework laptops are kewl but they have the same shitty trackpad everyone and their mum is carrying nowadays. That makes me teh sad. cry

However, I have discovered the MNT Reform
https://shop.mntre.com/products/mnt-reform
which has an interesting trackball+keys instead of the usual touchpad. Don't know if it does the trick because if you have to keep the whole palm on the ball to make it work smoothly, you can't also use the same hand to click the buttons, which is the same fail as modern trackpads.

Aside from that, it's even more modular than the framework, which is awesomez! biggrin

What else even exists in laptops that aren't maximum suckage with their trackpads or otherwise nowadays anyway?

No, for example RAM is now soldered on the motherboard of virtually all laptops and can't be removed without soldering. I believe the ssd on macs is also soldered-on nowadays. For batteries, they are typically no longer replaceable (used to be you could replace it, but not individual cells: just the whole block): no removable part, you'd have to break the case to get to the battery. Yes, this can be done. That's actually more or less what the MNT Reform is. But without fixing a few things, you'll get something not portable that runs too hot or has no good battery solution.

For example, you could use a portable monitor, a docking station with a keyboard and mouse, and a raspberry pi or a NUC, even with an eGPU with an eGPU case, plus a PSU. But good luck moving it around and setting it up e.g. to work on the train or between home and the office or whatnot.
