Because of the new internet laws, I propose that Heyuri has i2p/Tor mirrors similar to 8chan. This would be very useful in general privacy. Can this place please consider removing the length of time for threads where they become unbumpable (or extend it to 2,3 weeks? Heyuri is doing good in all aspects, except that the idea of its 2 founders (to grow, capture new audiences, and become ever larger) have been neglected! Kaguya, is the ultimate "quantity over quality". Look at old newsposts! In their words, I personally set "4chan 2004" as my goal in terms of activity on Heyuri.

and its not just a lack of acquisitions and outward growth, but his allegiance to the old style of imageboard thinking, his failure to think outside the box, and his failure to risk unpopularity with radical ideas. Think of all the failed and successful experiments of the Kolyma Era, that was indicitave of radical thinking that is absent in kaguya!

Now I know kaguya isn't exactly wealthy, but I know this is now the reason for his failure to have RRII, the problem is deeper than that, and I think his lack of RRII comes from some sort of pathological fear of failure.

When embedding a flash in a board other than /f/ (e.g. /b/), the space allocated for the flash is a square, even if the flash doesn't have a square aspect ratio.

For example, a wide flash will be allocated a square space like in the picture. The flash will only be played in between the bars, looking ugly. But it gets worse. Some parts of the flash will be played outside of the bars, outright breaking some flashes.

I don't really like Heyuri /b/ much anymore.
It's so utterly pointless to allow almost 50 pages of threads, yet the thread bump time is still a week, as it was before. After that, there's no point in replying to older threads because no one is going to see them.
Feels like the site is dying as "marked for deletion (old)" threads crawl up from page 7-8 to now before page 5.
I have to be honest, the entire experience with how this place was spammed with soyjacks and how the staff handled it left a bad taste in my mouth. Their response time was very slow, allowing the entire board to be purged, as well as the fact there was no active backup of the board available to reupload. It drew alot of similarities to when Gurochan lost an entire years worth of posts on their /g/ board a few years ago due to the bumbling efforts of the staff there. It got spammed, and their most recent backup was a year prior. I know the same person owns both sites, so seeing the same bullshit happen here was a tough pill to shallow. IIRC it was the same people who spammed Gurochan who spammed Heyuri.
I am generally put off by the fact threads last as long as two months plus now. I like being able to post in or make a thread and it to be gone much quicker than that. I guess the extended board pages are a way to combat future spam, but it feels like the wrong solution to a longstanding problem.

A lot happened on Heyuri since the last townhall four months ago. I don't have many specific topics to discuss, but it's about time to hold another townhall for general feedback and other stuff.

I accidentally added a duplicate to the anime stream suggestions. "Yakusai Kochou" (mine) is the same as "Demon Fighter Kocho." If someone can delete the former, I would appreciate it.

In addition to that one, I added a number of favorite 90s OVAs that I have seen and can vouch that Heyuri has a great likelihood of enjoying. But I won't be adding many more for a while. days ago I posted this image, which, as you can see, is quite a high quality work of OC, however it was repeatedly deleted with no explanation and I later received a multi-day ban for similarly good spirited PENIS antics
Now that my ban is up I made a thread calling out the one responsible while also serving as a dedicated PENIS thread, in case derailing other threads was the issue, however it was swiftly deleted and I received another temporary ban with no explanation

- Manage Posts is a bit uncomfortable to use over the live front end. Teh font size is too large (more of a personal dislike), which can be fixed with slight changes to css. And you only get to view the first douzen or so characters in teh fields, especially the comment field... maybe they can be put in a textarea with the full comment. As for the images maybe there could be sum javascript and a preview button where it loads the image in teh page, instead of needing to open a new tab.

- this one is more of an admin thing for kokonotsuba, but when logging mod/janitor/admin actions it should log a username to identify the action. going by IP seems tedious. this could be done by creating an object or multidimentsional array which should contain a username and password pair.

How come my post in this thread, (the one about fried pizza) keeps disappearing? I can't think of any rule I'm breaking. Is it because the image was posted recently? I cropped it slightly so it would be different--and anyway, you usually get a warning for that before you post.

Any chance of there being a way to not have the email field be remembered?

I've been hit with this a few times, getting an option applied to a post because I didn't notice the email field had sage instead of noko in it or whatever, and I've seen a few others be hit with it too.
in general, you only really want to sage/fortune/flag/nokoflag a specific post, and it's very easy to forget that it got saved; I pretty much only want noko on 99% of my posts

I'm sorry if I repeat what already had been made clear but it is my personal struggle in regards of this feature.

If not all file formats are allowed because that would imply that Heyuri can process them in a form that displays the contents (like all that currently are allowed are playable), then why not allow many other formats as exclusively downloadables and not necessarily able to display?
But what if you only want to share a file and not force Heyuri to display it like uploading .rar with a system of folders as purely a downloadable (because how do you open rar in browsers)?
The same going for mp3, flac, archive formats, pdf, asc and other signature formats (you can upload a playable mp3 by forcefully making it .mp4 anyway by a name change of an mp3 file and it plays properly).

My imageboard allowed any format but it would display an icon of what it is by format (if I set an icon) and had no way "to play" it, but instead it would download the file upon being clicked (and then user could run it and display locally).
It would possibly make the uploads board less frequented and less useful in comparison but it is more convenient. Uploads board had already been nerfed with the recent /b/ file size limit being raised that most files can fit.

As you have probably noticed, I renamed old boards. More specifically, renamed "Hentai" to "2D Ero", "Lolicon" to "2D Lolikon", and just now, "Anime/Cute" to "2D Cute". I found teh reason important enough to make a thread about.
The reason is simple: To get rid of ancient Western misunderstandings on this site. Yah, we on Heyuri are too elite to make such mistakes

"Hentai"（変態）is a Japanese word meaning something like "pervert". Japanese people refer animated R-18 rated anime as "eroanime"*, their source manga as "eromanga"*, and if they are doujin works, "ero doujinshi"*. Erotic images are called "ero gazou", if they are 2D characters then "nijigen ero gazou" and so on.
*Japanese language doesn't have spaces so it can be as well "ero anime" etc

Not all 2D girls are "Anime girls", this is an extremely often made mistake in the West since probably long ago. Japanese people always call them 2D girls. If the 2D girl happens to be from an anime series, they would then be "a girl from an anime" (and even then, you wouldn't find any result for "アニメ少女" at all instead of "二次元少女")- but for example, OS-tan girls aren't from an anime so they are just 2D girls. Thus I renamed Anime/Cute to 2D Cute.

As for 2D lolikon (Japanese is rorikon but granted, they just don't have c and l letters. I write it as Lolikon as stylish choice.), Japanese word refers people who have a loli (rori) complex - of all dimensions, primarily 3D when spoken IRL. Thus it's important to specify they are 2D girls.
Similar case with guro. Japanese word comes from grotesque, and refers to disgusting things from all dimensions, let it be blood or shit (or bugs - look up グロ虫 if you dare). So, while I didn't add it, proper title for a guro board would be "2D Guro".

I didn't change Anime/Manga since they actually refer to アニメ and 漫画 here ヽ(´ー｀)ノ

I increased the thumbnmail size on our 2D Lolikon board to fit with the rest of the site
It will probably look bad at the first, but I believe this should be the better way on the longer term

I've heard some people complain that Heyuri's memes and culture are too self-referential, but I really don't think that's a bad thing.
We're not trying to spread memes to the rest of the internet, that would ruin them and make them less special, it's important that Heyuri's culture remains unique to Heyuri.

As we discussed during the townhall and u guys approved, the fullbanners are now implemented on Heyuri - though currently there are very few banners on circulation.
...We need moar fullbanners! Here are some criteria I think we should have (you can discuss these too) for non-Heyuri stuff for now:
- If it's an imageboard (or similar community), it must be fully compliant with our Rule 8
- No personal homepages

They also must be exactly in 468x60 dimensions.
