I decided to list our banners at https://heyuri.net/index.php?p=advertise for other websites to use when linking to Heyuri.
...but we seem to have a lack of banners :sweat2:

How u decide to design is up to you, but some cute 2D girl (I think Japanese often draw such CG themselves, but it should be fine to get them off old booru posts or 2D Cute board; or our own higher quality oekaki pics) and a pretty font is what a lot of Japanese otaku-muke sites seem to do
I couldn't find a good collection of them on the internet, but you can view a few examples @ https://m-pe.tv/u/page.php?uid=99tdtd8532&id=13 or https://moeeki.net/rori.htm

200x40 is the one I know that we're lacking, but feel free to submit any other commonly used dimensions, they'll all be listed on that page ヽ(´ー`)ノ

Hello kagy, may I ask why you are advertising with rival sites? As in western BBS's.
Before you say "They aren't rivals!" - consider that you held this position with at least 2 other BBS's who ended up backstabbing Heyuri.

None of them have done anything creative, they just want to leech heyuris users and provide nothing in return. Stick to linking with japanese bbs's

More specifically by rival sites I mean ones that are trying to emlate the same thing as Heyuri, such as w*rld2ch and 20chan. These sites never had a userbase of their own, they took advantage of good will to get free advertising, and... 20chan's story is left untold, but its clearly some 12 year olds project

Heyuri should be more selective with who it links with. Heyuri doesn't gain anything at all by linking with inferior websites.

Yes I am a heyuri nationalist, No, I do not care if this sounds mean. The heyuri copycat boards SUCK!!

i dont think its right to see IBs as rivals or looking at IBs as a competition for users... They can always just go to twitter for their social interaction. Users will go where they find it interesting.
all you can do is make it a cool place to be, if other places arent cool and arent providing value to the user, theyll lose usership regardless of if they advertise on heyuri or not. ヽ(´∇`)ノ

i don't have 1337 art/design skills but i'll try my hand at a few 200x40 ones

Heyuri is a Japanese-inspired BBS, likely the only one who cares about Japanese net this much - and Japanese BBSes we take inspiration from don't care if the sites they link with are operated by 12-year-olds or was empty prior to advertising. I don't view any of them as "rival"s, it's just that some of them decided to be hostile to Heyuri and we may delete/lock their discussions to not result in further dorama.
If BBSes that advertise themselves on Heyuri are "inferior" anyways, none of our own users would migrate to them. It's worth mentioning that in the recent townhall, we decided to only allow BBS sites to advertise if they have Heyuri ads on their sites too, meaning any non-Heyurizen users they will get will see Heyuri's ad on such sites , so at the end of the day, it's only beneficial for us.

That being said, I don't rly actively seek to link with Western BBSes anymore since most of them sux anyways, and spent today working on pages to link with Japanese sites (I've updated https://heyuri.net/index.php?p=japanese & created https://heyuri.net/index.php?p=japanese2 ). Though, it's depressing how much of the links I come across have died so recently :dark:

added the banners above to the page, thx for creating
Among other ratios (I'm not sure which is used moar often than others), we can also have some 88x31 buttans if anyone is up to designing

>you could try the fellow who runs futabaforest
I don't see any kind of "links" section on their site, so it's not likely to happen :sweat2:
I've seen many Futaba/Nijiura derivative sites who I'd have contacted if they didn't die off long ago...

Besides the usual 88x31 buttons and 468x60 full banners, these were also very common standards back in teh day:

- 120x60 (button)
- 125x125 (square button)

- 234x60 (half banner)
- 728x90 (leaderboard)

- 120x240 (vertical banner)
- 120x600 (skyscraper)
- 160x600 (wide skyscraper)
