My point is, are /c/, /h/, /l/ and /s/ absolutely necessary?
There's nothing there that one couldn't get from a visit to gelbooru, and in both greater quality and quantity, for that matter

Now there's a board for girl talk, a premise that falls under its own weight considering this is an anonymous imageboard. So what differentiates posts over there from someone claiming to be a girl in /b/?

I liked it better when each section of the site represented a radically different experience. If i had a gun to Kaguya's head this site would be:

Regular boards
/b/ + /q/ (+/a/, maybe)

Misc. boards
/f/ + /o/ + /jp/

Others
Strange World + Lounge + CGI

>My point is, are /c/, /h/, /l/ and /s/ absolutely necessary?
It's not wrong that u could post the same contents to Off-Topic
But they are easier to use like an image posting board, when Off-Topic is much more chatty (not to say chatting isn't allowed on these boards)
It's thus a closer experience to Japanese boards where you could just post the images as succeeding threads if you wanted to.
In fact, I wouldn't be able to link Heyuri with much of the Japanese sites we're linked with or that I could share Heyuri on, if we didn't have dedicated 3D Girls board (linked on https://www.toukougazou.net/) or 2D Cute board (required for http://moe100.com/) etc.

>There's nothing there that one couldn't get from a visit to gelbooru, and in both greater quality and quantity, for that matter
If nothing else, I think posting images on an imageboard and viewing what other people using the same site wanted to post is a fun experience in itself
>>
>and viewing what other people using the same site wanted to post is a fun experience in itself
Yeah, but activity on those boards is almost non-existant, so even in that case there's not much fun to be had.
/Girltalk/ is just a shit idea on its own
>>
I think you just worry too much about the anonymity aspect/activity levels

Heyuri is a bulletin board that uses a Futaba-derivative software on one of its most surface levels because it's the only realistic way English-speaking users would feel enough familiarity with to delve deeper into the site in the way Western internet turned out to be. It's unfortunate Shii sowed the seeds of teh whole deal with anonymity
>>
>It's unfortunate Shii sowed the seeds of teh whole deal with anonymity
I don't get what you mean by that, but just think about it for a second.
There's a board dedicated to girl talk where there's no way of knowing the gender of the poster (nor should there be). It simply doesn't make any sense
>>
As long as there is no harassment/outsiders using it like 4/soc/ (like how https://dic.pixiv.net/en/a/PTT#h3_2 does too), I think noone really cares if the user is actually a male or not. You can read in the rules that it's for girlish topics, a male is less likely to play otome games or listen to Barbie but they could of course post if a relevant topic exists.

Literally nothing wrong with /j/
Also saying /l/ isnt necessary is insane.

My problem with having too many boards is that it decentralizes posting and culture.

Part of the fun of an imageboard is the melting pot of topics brought about by a melting pot of different users. However, when you over-segregate conversation you lose a lot of the friction that a meme, or an inside joke or a memorable moment can spark from.

If someone wants to talk about, for example, their Barbie collectibles, i think it's best that they do it on /b/, where the preaching will not only be directed to the choir, but also to the people who are there because of videogames, anime, travel threads, technology, etc

>>
>>69038
you can use the overboard to see everything in one page. nothing is "segregated"
>>
just look at the posts on /j/, no one is attention whoring or catfishing, people are just talking about stuff their into or whatever is on their mind, fujo topic or girl stuff. its clearly not a board like 4/soc/, and i think if there was any of that, it should be deleted.. its not an active board but its also new... the hate the board gets makes me sad. the constant misuse of the smug kaomoji makes me sad.

An overboard was created because there were so many boards, that doesn't mean there should've been that many boards in the first place.

>people are just talking about stuff their into or whatever is on their mind
That's what /b/ is for. Take a good look at /j/ and you'll realize most thread wouldn't be out of tune in /b/. And that's my whole point, it's unnecesary at best and redundant at worst. there are good threads on /j/, i'm just saying it would be better if they were in the same place as the good threads on /b/ and /a/

The same thing happens with the porn boards. Instead of having like 5 dead ones, at least combine them and have 1 worth fapping over

At this point we're just adding boards for the sake of adding boards. Let's keep things simple and tidy, concentrated in two places at most, and let everything else exist because it falls out the normal imageboard format :foruda:
>>
you DUMB boys dont understand that we GIRLS need our little brd for GIRLISH talks
you weirdos can play alone (`∩´)σ
>>
>>69042
you've seen what happens when girls post on /b/, the thread turns into thirst farming, even if threads are seen by everyone, you know a thread on /j/ is for girls.

i dont think dead threads matter all that much, if someone wants a fast paced site, they should post more themselves. Generals are against site rules as far as i know, so people will make threads. ヽ(´∇`)ノ
>>
>the thread turns into thirst farming
That generally happens because they're looking for attention. Here are a couple of threads up right now in /j/:

>i have so much shows and anime to watch and so much manga to read...... i cant possible get it all in b4 summer ends.... its too much....

>Ozzy Osbourne is... is dead!

>I think boys should date other boys!

>My friend is in her tarot card phase and now she wont shut up about her predictions and tarot youtubers. I'm ok with tarot but I'm sick of hearing about it

>this site needs more yuri

Those are good threads that don't give away or rely on the gender of the user. All of which could appear on /b/ and no one would bat an eye

>i dont think dead threads matter all that much, if someone wants a fast paced site
Activity isn't the main issue. /jp/ is still conceptually justified despite not having many posts. Same goes with /lounge/, comparatively.
It's all about purpose. There 4 different porn boards that almost no one uses. Why?

>>
>An overboard was created because there were so many boards, that doesn't mean there should've been that many boards in the first place.
It was the overboard that came first before any board additions were considered

kokonotsuba not having an overboard at launch was why 2020-era Heyuri's boards got axed in the first place

Whats wrong with girls talking to girls? ┐(゚~゚ )┌
>>
i need /j/ so that i can talk about sewing and dolls without being made fun of
>>
Theres too many damn boards. /j/ is goddamn useless! Remove them
