the issue with b is that no discussion lasts and with gaming you usually discuss the new release for a week or two

Probably not gonna happen again (especially not combined in that way) - but if either were reintroduced, I'd campaign for teh following rules to be enforced relatively strictly:

1. No fanboy trolling & flamewars (e.g. browser wars, OS/distro wars, console wars, franchise wars, etc.)
2. No doom 'n' gloom emoposts that are just whining & complaining about the topic - especially in a meta-like fashion (e.g. "why are all X terrible now?", "the Z industry is fucked", ""twitter screencap* it's over"). Instead, posts must contain images & discussions related to the actual topic, posted as fans & enthusiasts of the topic
3. Similar to the above: If you don't like the board topic, don't post on that board; if you don't like the thread topic, don't post in that thread

With these, I think we could avoid teh worst of 4/v/ and 4/g/'s AIDS

It's not a board I'd post on, but I'm not against another try at a video games board. Could be brought up during the next townhall to see numbers
I expect the desire for a technology-related board to be lower, it's often not something that can have long winded discussions about like geemu - and Off-Topic already works well enough for that
