there's an active AI thread on every board
some of it is low-effort """Art""" and the rest is 4chan/soyparty humour posted in a phone format like you'd find in nu-social media platforms such as TikTok

if I wanted to see this contemporary garbage, I'd have taken my ass to Reddit or Xwitter, you're telling me wojaks are off limits because it doesn't fit with the culture of a LITERAL IMAGEBOARD, but this is okay? ban these users or set a definition of what Heyuri should or should not be, because it really doesn't feel like a return to the "old interwebz" as advertised if there has to be a thread about some AIbro peddling his garbage constantly

why should I have to see shit like this when I come onto this website specifically to take a break from the internet-at-large?
>>
wojaks are unfunny 2010s garbage but flying through a grocery store yelling "gay nigger" has been funny since before the internet was invented. I don't even own a smartphone and generally don't like vertical videos either but sometimes there's one that's so funny it's worth it.
>>
>when I come onto this website specifically to take a break from the internet-at-large?

why are you frequenting "the internet-at-large" at all :glare2:
browsing other sites is against the rules. it says pretty clearly in rule 2 of 10 "Thou shall not have any websites before Heyuri"
>>
It's been said here over 9000 times, but Heyuri isn't a "retro" site or attempting to "emulate the past". It's heavily inspired by ye web of olde, but it isn't a site that blindly bans things simply because they're "contemporary" - whoever told you that was mistaken!

Certain overused memes (wojak/pepe/rage faces/etc.), stock troll phrases ("cringe", "based", "seethe"), and lame behaviors are b& under Rule 8, but that has more to do with the kind of site culture we want to cultivate here - not how new things are. Rule 8 is not the "everything after [insert year] = B&" rule

AI-generated material - which kaguya and other staff-san had repeatedly stated was allowed on Heyuri since such a concept has existed - was brought up at the most recent townhall (July) as there had been a few complaints like your own. After discussing it as a community, this was the collective conclusion we came to:
On the image-dumping boards (/c/, /h/, /l/, and /s/), AI-generated imagery will only be allowed in threads dedicated to AI pics. This does not apply to Off-Topic, which has no limits on AI-generated imagery.
( Summary of changes: https://wiki.heyuri.net/index.php?title=Heyuri#12th_Townhall , townhall logs: https://up.heyuri.net/src/4593.txt - relevant section starts at [2025-07-05 23:15:29] )

You can see this change referenced on the rules page ( https://www.heyuri.net/index.php?p=rules ) under the relevant board sections liek this:
AI-generated images are only allowed if the OP is also AI-generated.
That doesn't mean we'll allow any and all non-Heyurian/non-Japanese-generated material to crap up Heyuri, but the only thing even remotely close to that here is the one you reposted... which I guarantee would have been reposted all over early 4chan ad nauseam had the video existed back then :xd:

gey nigger is funny lighten up :xd:
>>
Heyuri is trying to blaze its own path. ヽ(´∇` )ノ=3=3
Spirit of teh old internet alive, but not wallowing in the past. if anything new was banned, it would be tired.
Old things are good and to be appreciated but wouldnt it be nice if new things were made with the spirit of the old? as a continuation of that carefree spirit? that sounds a lot more fun to me! (・∀・ )
>>
if I find it funny it's good but if I think it sucks it should be b& tbage
>>
There is nothing inherently wrong with AI
We must reap its potential for our higher purposes.
>>
AI can help people who suck at drawing participate in creating OC that makes heyuri great.

if the OC is cool or lulzworthy or both, then i dont really care if someone made it with a tablet or a robot. :waha:

low quality AI spam is a problem, but i dont see AI in itself as a bad thing.
>>
>>69481
then you'd atleast agree the AI shit should atleast limit itself to loli threads or something instead of the Instagram sora content where it's generated videos of some guy saying racial slurs

Id suggest atleast making an AI board or forcing all of them into an "/AI/ general" thread on /b/ as to create an echo chamber/containment zone so they don't poison the rest of the website
>>
>where it's generated videos of some guy saying racial slurs
so is the problem ai or the racial slurs now? :closed-eyes:
i say lighten up about it, its silly. If anything is R8 about this, its taking stuff like that too seriously. :nigra:
>>

>Rule 8 is not the "everything after [insert year] = B&" rule

I'm fully aware
My problem is with the following:
>Certain overused memes (wojak/pepe/rage faces/etc.), stock troll phrases ("cringe", "based", "seethe")

How is AI art somehow distinct from this? How does it not inherently create counter-culture considering only people who'd be interested in posting wojaks, actually give a fuck about things like AI?
>>
>>69484
What if a mod personally tags every single post with AI in it, so you can filter it and not see it! the mods can stay up all night tagging AI images just for u ヽ(´∇` )ノ
>>
>the rest is 4chan/soyparty humour
>wojaks are off limits because it doesn't fit with the culture of a LITERAL IMAGEBOARD
>phone format like you'd find in nu-social media platforms such as TikTok

>Instagram sora content
I don't know about any single of these sites to make educated comparisons, and you should consider limiting your exposure too :dark:

>>69482
>"/AI/ general" thread
this was suggested during the townhall but I don't like the idea of limiting users to one thread, for the same reason Rule 6 is a thing on Heyuri.
>>
>then you'd atleast agree the AI shit should atleast limit itself to loli threads or something instead of the Instagram sora content where it's generated videos of some guy saying racial slurs
That stuff has only been posted liek twice, both of which happened today. If that stuff keeps getting posted to the point of being annoying, it'll be dealt with like anything else that falls under our "No board dominationz allowed by a single user/topic" rule

>How is AI art somehow distinct from this? How does it not inherently create counter-culture considering only people who'd be interested in posting wojaks, actually give a fuck about things like AI?
Generative AI is a technology, not a meme or something exclusive to a particular internet community. The Japanese users of Futaba, 5ch, etc. have been generating erotic and LOL-worthy images & videos non-stop since the tech became available, and they're hardly Wojak posters
>>
i totally agree OP, every corner of the internet, even the smaller ones, are flooded with AI shit. it would be nice to have more places where it wasn't tolerated.
if someone wants to post the garbage amalgamations of other people's work theres 100s of places online that will happily accept it, why does it have to be here, too.
>>
Alright OP, there's no need to resort to samefagging :xd:
>>
>>69482
maybe your country has just started getting lots of african migrants in the last ~15 years but here in america we've been making fun of niggers for hundreds of years, it's not some new fad
>>
>theres 100s of places online that will happily accept it, why does it have to be here, too
it's the other way - there are many Heyuri spin-off sites that religiously ban all AI related stuff in a desperate attempt to be more "authentic" than Heyuri, but those people with sticks up their asses won't be able make fun sites with creative users :nyaoo-closedeyes:
>>
>>69491
i agree, chasing nostalgia is retarded, i just dont see AI as creativity.
interesting things lie outside of something which is only capable of replicating known patterns, in the same way that nostalgiafags have no idea why the things they try to replicate were good in the first place (which is thankfully a problem heyuri doesn't have)
>>
>>69493
>i just dont see AI as creativity
Human ideas that control AI can be creative. With creative minds using AI, it has potential to be output fun/funny/interesting content, see videos Japanese people created here for example: https://img.heyuri.net/b/koko.php?res=158231
Though for a pervert like me, the biggest reason of liking this new technology is simply erotica!

And if nothing else, one could also just be amazed at how far humanity's technological advancement got during our short lifetimes :nyaoo-closedeyes:
>>
>>69494
how can you call yourself a pervert without understanding that it is the human touch that makes anything, even porn, resonate with your soul. a computer can generate lines and colors and shapes from a cloud of noise in similar looking ways to how a human would, but it can never have the intent of a freak who made something because they needed to see it.

also you talk like chatgpt
>>
AI is more creative than humans because when I write the prompt it's always just POV sex with an anime girl with cum and/or pee squirting everywhere, but when I use wildcards the AI makes all sorts of things I would've never thought of
>>
>more creative than humans
no, more creative than you maybe. could fix that if you didn't outsource your thinking to it anon :xp:
>>
>>69495
>how can you call yourself a pervert without understanding that it is the human touch that makes anything, even porn, resonate with your soul
it might be because he's not gay and therefore isn't jerking off to the artist's soul. I'd jerk off to a naturally-occuring rock formation if it happened to fulfill all my fetishes, artist's touch be damned! and if you would refuse to do so, then I think that your need to feel superior outpaces your identity as a pervert. poser!

They do say that slate has good cleavage... :dark:
