Funny how Angeleno, current world2ch owner, frequents Heyuri biggrin And that this was probably made by boatchan's owner, considering that it's way more newer and dead than any other altchans on this list

I still don't get why people would recommend the soy website as 4chan alternative. It's literally just a forum meant for the qa community to discuss raiding. Why would they want a bunch of random new people interrupting them?

It could've been made by frenchan shill, too. They are desperate for users lol
>>
the soy site is one of the largest imageboards and is generally just good to shitpost on if your fine with a lower barrier of quality than 4chan
>>
>>63191
I just wish that their autism stayed on their imageboard and didn't leak out to other places in the form of raids
I used to know one person who is an avid user nowadays, and he was an annoying faggot who kept pushing his clearly incorrect opinion despite being proven wrong by multiple people (this was on discord in a serious conversation, maybe 1.5 years ago)

Can mods start putting out the amount of posts per month each month? I'm curious to see February since it seemed a lot more active than previous months
>>
Around 7500 posts were made during January
Around 5500 posts were made during February
So far around 2900 posts were made during March

I can't guarantee these numbers are very accurate, I tried to exclude spam by the numbers top off my head - I think around 400-500 spam posts were made during only March..

Again, t's hard to give exact numbers with the amount of spam, but you can use Discord webhook's message searching tools (link: https://discord.gg/kQ5DuSsBn2 )
It's more useful to see how many posts were made during each day, because spam comes in big waves and the days without it should show accurate numbers. For example, I can say exactly 300 posts were made during the last 28 hours and 27 minutes as I am writing this.

As for /sw/, there are message logs at https://ayashii.net/bbs.php?c=58&m=g where you can choose month you want to view, press search buttan, and scroll button to see how many results were found. This should be considerably more accurate than webhook as spam posts aren't included
>>
I always include spam when I calculate post rates (such as most historic Heyuri calculations) since spam is somewhat of a constant, and it's included in all sites with automated stats + most manually calculated estimations sweat2

would it be a good idea to just have an auto filter that would change nu buzzwords into something else?
change the word into some inside joke that would embarrass the poster for not following the rules.
seems like it could be an opportunity to bring about more lulz instead of just deleting the post.
13 posts omitted. Click Reply to view.
>>
I think another positive of this change would be that instead of deleting whole posts that may have some good content but a buzzword or two, they will just replace the buzzword with something more appropriate or funnier and keep the post with value undeleted
>>
>>63134
If a post had a buzzword to begin with, I doubt any value would be lost
>>
>>63134
Besides, how can newfags learn about our culture, if they aren't admonished for newfag behaviour? Bearly anyone reads the rules anyway
>>
>>63135
a lot of longposts or have one or two potential buzzwords in them if you are strict enough. especially ones that are talking about events or things like that that are happening currently

>>63136
I'm sure even without their reply getting deleted they would realize the reason their word was replaced in the post
>>
>>63152
There's still the problem of words like "based", "cringe" and "seething", since they are normal part of vocabulary when used in their correct context, but filter would treat them always as rule 8 breaking words. "This anime was WIN on the Light Novel", "I am boiling through my teeth" (if we take examples from >>62886). And although the boiling example is humorous, it would get old pretty fast

Lounge@Heyuri
I checked a while ago and it said they were 'cleaning up'. I checked again more recently and it simply 404'd.

I hope it's not down for good. It was part of my entertainment to go onto that site every once in a while and see what kind of crazy drivel had been newly posted. It was like stepping into a bizarro world where the usual rules of morality had been flipped on their head-- as such, it was very entertaining.

So what happened exactly? Drama with the admin? Did the pedos over there go 2 far and get the Feds involved? Was it hacked by moralfag crusaders maybe? Could they just not get a developer anymore?

I'm not a free speech warrior by any measure, but I really hope it wasn't just 'moralfags shut it down' or something a long those lines. A site getting killed just for hosting objectionable content would set a bad precedent. How small do you think the Overton Window would get once something like that starts happening?

Heyuri has been incredibly slow today and its because it takes a shit ton of time to load content from unpkg.com. What's the deal?

>>63053
I think its a Content Delivery Manager or something like that
>>
It's for ruffle, but I don't notice any difference in loading times unsure
>>
Most of the time it's fine, but I have definitely experienced times where the entire page was prevented from loading for ages because of this exact reason dark

Maybe this is how kaguya-san's internet connection normally performs, so he can't notice the difference xd
>>
That's hidoi mod-san, I am trying to emulate 2004's internet including the loading speeds here cry

If the problem is actually severe perhaps I could look into hosting our own ruffle instance, but other than not thinking it would be necessary, I couldn't do it at first because:
- We wouldn't have ruffle's daily updates
- When something eventually b0rks I would be the one trying figure out what has gone wrong dark
- Most importantly, I don't have shell access on servers required for the setup to begin with, at least in our current situation

Another possible solution is leeching off from another site's ruffle instance. Obviously this could have some security issues, so we would have to use a trustworthy website or CDN's instance. Feel free to suggest candidates for this one

Whenever i see someone watching Tiktok, i ask myself, whats goin on inside that person.
The thing is, that i just cant understand why you should watch these cringy TikTok videos.
These Tiktokers are just running behind the trends and short living trashy memes and are trying to get the most likes out of it.
What i also dont understand is, if these people understand, that Tiktok is spying on them 24/7 and is collecting Biometric data of them.
Its so hard to understand, that these people dont care about Privacy anymore.
And when you come to them with some other, less cringy thing like heyuri, they just block the dialog with some sort of argument like "Eewwww, this website looks so ancient" or "This is only for nerds".

The format of Tiktok disallows for any high quality or even medium quaility content. With that format you cannot say anything meaningful nor can you elaborate in any way. This results in extremely low quality users

Do you think users will bother checking such a board often to see what is the current topic? No, we will just look at /b/ and post in if there is any thread with an interesting topic
>>
>>62988
i dont think its a board that would require much vigilance
just depends on how quickly the topics cycle through.
could be everyday, every other day, every week.
im not complaining about /b/'s activity but i think sometimes people run out of things to post which results in slower traffic, maybe a dedicated topic on a separate board could supplement that.
>>
Hispachan used to have a board like that. I wasn't an hispachan user (i only checked it once every so often), but it always seemed to me like a good idea. That said, we have to talk about what we always talk about when board discussion comes up: we don't have enough users unsure
>>
Thanks for the mention on here lol, just found it while googling the site.

>>62988
It's totally understandable, I tried to make a post a while back on my /b/ urging them to use the other boards.

>>62989
For me, I'm just letting the topic sit for as long as possible before changing the board topic.
>>
>>63031
It's human nature for us to gravitate towards a central location where the rest of our "tribe" is gathered - Heyuri has learned the hard way that it's better to have fewer boards with moar activity than moar boards with less activity sweat2

Rather than making additional boards that are functionally identical to each other besides the topic and telling users to use them, it's usually best to only make additional boards when it would be detrimental to the existing board(s) not to - at least if maximizing user activity is the goal

That said, I can respect wanting to have 3 trap boards *salutes with pen0r* blush

the current one just looks better, noone cares about kuz
>>
Personally I preferred the pre-kokonotsuba one (the current one) anyway, cuz I think the green accent suits the site better than maroon nyaoo

But regardless of opinion, the red one is licensed to kolyma, so we can't use it if we want to have Heyuri's assets located with the rest of Heyuri's files on heyuri.net rather than centralized on kncdn (where it's shared with other kolyma sites, owned by kuz, and can't easily be accessed/changed by kaguya)

Same goes for the kolyma-licensed CSS styles, which you may have noticed were recently removed from Heyuri. Since kolyma owns the implementations but not the concepts, those styles will have to be remade from scratch... which mite b a good thing, since our CSS files have needed a good cleanup for a long time (which will make creating new styles much easier), and now is a good opportunity to do it nyaoo

why did kuz delete my short and simple post making fun of kuzyma license?

On 4chan mainly, but the other chans too, like 8 chan. I'm sure there are alot of people seeking the "true imageboard experience" or something like that, only to hop on 4chan and be met by idiot teenagers and culture war autists.I know there are the inherent dangers of nu-chan retards glomming onto this site as the "kewl new imgabored!!!" and bringing their retarded memes, and of course culture war faggots will want another place to spew their lines about gays and trannies, but i'm sure we could attract at least a few good potential Heyurians. So do you think it would be worthwhile to drop a few lines about Heyuri here and there on the chans?

[s4s] is its own breed of faggotry. last time I checked there the entire board was nearly incomprehensible

agreed, for me it was only fun when i started, and then it became less fun over time, when i discovered that all the "epic memes" are the same crap that was first posted months or even years ago
they like to gatekeep their own shitposting
what really made me stop using that board often is when it got raided by a bunch of retards from some discord server calling a few namefags out for "abusing chaotic (some miserable faggot apparently, i hope he dies)"
for like 1 or 2 days straight every single thread had the word "chaotic" in it, and i also got banned for 3 days for telling him to die

I just read an article by Tim Berners-Lee, who makes the proposal that we should strive for universal internet access. He considers the Internet a basic necessity, like water, or electricity, but soon after admits that we would have to iron out issues like 'lack of privacy, misinformation, and internet gender-based violence', as we work towards universal Internet use.

On that count I'm not sure if the internet could really be called a basic necessity--I mean, I can't really name any social problems that would have to be fixed before we can ensure universal access to water...(´ー`)
