I always thought like japan was lacking good rock bands. The only good ones I've listened to was Penpals and... well, just Penpals. Most of them are too faggy for my taste.

I like Bump of Chicken and The Pillows for regular j-rock music. Given your description, they might not be up your alley.
I'm more of a heavy metal sort of guy though, so I strongly recommend Earthshaker, Loudness, and Anthem (best one of the lot).

i was imagining, like the organic stickers they put on food products, there should be a feature that scans an image through tin-eye when an image is uploaded, and optionally puts a FRESH OC! sticker next to it if there are no results.

I don't think it's something that would work in reality since reverse image search is unreliable, and it would potentially slow down site performance a lot

That said, I've previously suggested a "staff-san can give custom awards to posts" feature, but it would need someone with t3h sk1llz to actually develop it

As we discussed during the townhall and u guys approved, the fullbanners are now implemented on Heyuri - though currently there are very few banners on circulation.
...We need moar fullbanners! Here are some criteria I think we should have (you can discuss these too) for non-Heyuri stuff for now:
- If it's an imageboard (or similar community), it must be fully compliant with our Rule 8
- No personal homepages

They also must be exactly in 468x60 dimensions.
I will dump the old (outdated/kolyma related, only for archival purposes) banners for inspiration/give an idea under this thread. For now, we can lack banners for these Heyuri-related stuff:

I think the oekaki banner for >>66573 could have a collage of hi-quality oekaki characters that has been posted on Oekaki@Heyuri in the background
Editing out characters to be transparent may be tedious, so maybe choose ones where u can edit out with one click using fuzzy selection tool. This is just an idea anyways

I had this dream where "the internet" decided that videos and audiovisual media in general was taking too much space so they made an announcement stating that all of it would be wiped out.

Then people all over the world started to make "video-databases" that had the titles of as many videos as possible with brief descriptions.

Then people started to just write descriptions of entire videos. Video essays had complete transcripts and more surreal videos like AMVs were described amateurishly in their entirety. Most videos in the internet became either lost media or literature.

There were also chunks of people that saved the videos to their computers or in hard drives, which was followed by "video hunters". People that just looked for rare videos all over the world, Indiana Jones style.
There were also a few videos in p2p spaces, but veeery very few.

even though I don't have any expectations that video will disappear from the world like that, I still habitually download just about every youtube video I see these days
probably need to start adding more disks to the machine I'm using for it, I was cheap and lazy and everything is on the (tiny) boot SSD

I grab them in HD if I expect to watch the video a lot or it needs the video quality, in SD for normal occasional viewing, and lower (the 120p 30fps format) if it doesn't matter too much but I still want to have it on-disk anyway, and with subtitles
yt-dlp is an absolute treasure, even if the format selection settings are a PITA and it absolutely chokes on videos with long filenames and the output filename configuration system is horribly overcomplicated too

I suspect I actually might have at least one or two actual "deleted from the internet" (or at least, from YouTube) treasure videos but I haven't bothered to check. ┐( ´ω`)┌

is there a chance of getting the emote/emoji/kaomoji buttons to insert at the cursor instead of at the end of the textbox?
pretty much nowhere else works like that and it's kind of awkward adding things to a post as it stands, very fiddly

you just split the textbox into two substrings, one with stuff before the cursor and one with stuff after
and set the textbox contents to be the text from the button concatenated into the middle of those two strins instead of just doing it at the end of the textbox contents
