what do you think of genshiken?

its still one of my favorite anime, nothing seems to display the old school otaku lifestyle as accurately as it does.

i feel like its a must watch for any self identifying otaku.

Watch/Read Aria the comfiest anime/manga! biggrin

I really like the setting, themes and how it gives us a positive look on the future. Even after humanity reached an incredible amount of tecnological progress there exists a place where people can live peacefully in a traditional way for it's own sake and enjoyment. All the girls are also pretty cute and have development throughout the story.

I am a fan of his stuffs and read most of them. I was rly excited for this anime as it was his first adaptation. I think this addaptation is a great one in many ways, both that it manage to stay close to his art. But also follow the plotline. Not finished teh anime yet, but i like it.

I'm definitely pretty interested.
It isn't quite Shirow's style, his work has more elaborate coloration, but it is a decent throwback aesthetic for other 80s-90s OVA while still looking modern.

As an adaptation of the manga, I really am curious of the reception, if it is an adaptation of the manga.
The manga has been picked and prodded by every anime version of GITS made so far, and almost every good idea in it has been used somehow at some time.
What is left in the original that is new for people other than some early gags about Motoko being a cocky dickhead? I like the manga a lot, but I'm also someone that read it before I watched the films/tv anime.
Sometimes something can be so influential that it ceases to feel original when adapted later.
