Have you been watching the corocoro anime of the year? I started today and this show is very, VERY good. It's almost as if an anime studio woke up from their asleep and realized "wait a minute, we can make good shows!". It's a reboot of the original Dodge Danpei but they get you up to speed on the backstory pretty naturally during the show and in the omake segments. Additionally, Puniru's VA voices Honey.

I just recently watched Otaku No Video and found it as a pretty good and interesting look at Otaku culture at the time. I know that there are different anime that represent Otaku Culture per decade 2000s (Genshiken), 2010s (Arguably Oreimo), and 2020s (Magical Destroyers). I wanted to ask if anyone has more recommendations.

2020s otaku culture is interesting, because it's basically split. the old guard otaku like old anime, visual novels, moe, and such. they basically feel targeted because of new moral standards like anti-loli, posers who seek otaku as a status symbol, etc. you can see this feeling represented in magical destroyers. another 20s anime of old guard is 16bit sensation for visual novel otaku. the new otaku are interested in gacha/mobile games (though these are popular among old guard too), isekai, vtubers, and such. the recent movie chou kaguya-hime was a good representation of the new otaku culture, it is a more fantasy setting than the other titles in your list though. There are also a lot of people who overlap new and old or who have changed, this can be seen in isekai ojisan.

It's comparable to Mononoke or Jigoku Shoujo, but makes use of moar in-depth knowledge about Buddhism, Japanese folklore and rough knowledge of names of places in Japan. It's easy enough to look up stuff while watching, and enjoy it regardless :biggrin:

Hand Maid May seems to have a similar premise to some other moe-andoroido anime we've watched together, with a brilliant girl-robo arriving some some random computar geek's house. Pantsu no Ana is a quick, perverted single-EP OVA that we will watch before Hand Maid May, as it has a length of 11 episodes with sequel included.

I''S pure OVA is an ecchi school-idol romance from 2006. First & Second EP was hell yeah this is fukking good, then it slowily lost its shine towards teh 6th EP where it just was slow-idol-drama that felt old. Animation was really soild for first ep and was very impressive. I like teh style a lot! :x3:

it took med 92hours and about 6 months to finish Fate Stay/Night all 3 routes. Now, when I finally finished it, all that's left is a hole in my heart after you finish something great. For teh three routes, i would say I liked heavens feels teh most, even if Unlimited blade was epik in it'z own way. Worse was teh first one imo. SPOILER!!! Sakura turned out to be such a good anti-hero, and rip illya!!!<3 T_T

Funny enough, i started reading teh VN as i didn't want to spoil myself watching Prism Illya! Now i am free to watch teh final 2 movies!!!

OP here, I watched Shin Cutie Honey and Re: Cutie Honey...

Latter was the best, u can feel gainax at some points and being from 2000s helped it have teh best feeling (subjective but most Heyurizens should agree). It's just 3 episodes so I suggest it to everyone :biggrin:

For those that like rock and anime.
Honestly, i feel the plot doesn't go anywhere most episodes without it actually being a slice-of-life kind of deal. Also, the animation can get pretty cheap some times. I like it though since it has style :cool:
