Is contemporary manga black and white out of japanese cultural inertia? Seems like it would be relatively simple to colorize it, but it doesn't seem too popular for some reason.

Your fortune: Average luck

here to ask about a show again. does anyone here know about the show miracle! mimika ? there is nothing on nyaa.si and the only listing i can find of the first DVD (on mercari) is over 200,000 yen. any other information is highly appreciated too, i plan to put all of this on a fansite for animes i like.

it seems to have some corralation to the tv show cookin' idol ai! mai! main!, miracle! mimika aired from 2006 to 2009 while ai! mai! main! aired from 2009 to 2013, both are cooking shows broadcasted on NHK educational that features a loli learning how to cook, and some live action of the cooking.

on another note, if anyone knows if episodes of ai! mai! main! past episode 150 is available somewhere, id love to know. according to someone on MAL there wasnt DVDs past episode 150, but its possible there could be some tv recordings? its a little weird how they didnt make DVDs when they introduced the new cooking loli in the series.

Hey fagz (´ー`)

tell me an anime that made you shit violentyl

They remembered to work on it after announcing a new season like 5 years ago

I can't say I remember much about it, besides cursing that there was no continuation at the time

I’m almost done with my model I’ll be ur girlfriend guys :3 idk what to be called yet but I’m almost done with my model I’m so excited never really streamed before kinda nervous I’ll let u know when I do Nya !!!!

Does anyone know where I can find an english translation of the Narutaru manga? Only thing I could find was a release by "Dark Horse Comics", but so far the translation is awful, they flipped the pages and I heard it's heavily censored. Is the anime as bad as people make it out to be? Maybe I should just watch the anime instead?

Hello I'm an artist, I make manga when I feel like it and I'm kinda bored, anyone have ideas, or charaters, jokes, settings ect, give me all of it lol,I like to draw sexy women hehe

Is anyone else watching Sayonara Lara?
What do you think of it so far?
I just started, but i'm around episode 6 so far.
I like it so far, i hope it will become actual yuri, the boxing girl is kinda cute.

Have you been watching the corocoro anime of the year? I started today and this show is very, VERY good. It's almost as if an anime studio woke up from their asleep and realized "wait a minute, we can make good shows!". It's a reboot of the original Dodge Danpei but they get you up to speed on the backstory pretty naturally during the show and in the omake segments. Additionally, Puniru's VA voices Honey.

Have you read the manga Silver Nina by Itokatsu?

It is about a silver haired little girl who aspires to be an Akiba Idol.

Art I drew. What do you think?

magical girls are magical!

I finished and I approve!

Not violent stories where everyone dies or gets maimed or something trite like that, but when things are emotionally strained or people who should be happy aren't. I hated that Arakure Ojousama wa Monmon Shiteiru was scratching that itch for me for the longest time, but then the guy had to be a fag and ruin it. I haven't read it since he started acting like he was in love with her. This frame was my favorite part
Are there any manga that are well written but don't gay out at the last second? I love it when characters go through some massive disappointment or hate each other, especially in romance plots.

me and my friends r about to have an ova night. do u guys anything theres anything cool other than these we could watch? (these are ovas ive either seen or im planning to see that night)

What's Heyuri's opinion on False Memory (picrel), and by extension chinese anime as a whole?

hello /a/! just finished alien 9 and i wanted to share my thoughts... thisll be long, so id understand if no one will fully read it, just wanted to put this out there (´･ω･`)

alien9 really left a surprisingly deep mark on me for some reason. i was genuinely disturbed by it in a way that i usually am not with this kind of thing, and i kept thinking about it long after i finished it. i honestly don't know exactly why it affected me so much, especially because, in a more objective sense, it isn't even the most disturbing anime i've ever seen. it isn't the most grotesque one i've watched; visually, it is certainly grotesque and there is violence, but it isn't anywhere near the most violent anime i've seen. the concept itself is disturbing, but again, not necessarily among the most disturbing concepts i've encountered, and it isn't even among the most anxiety-inducing things i've watched. yet the way everything is presented, and especially the way the characters themselves react to what is happening, really threw me off

i was reminded a lot of evangelion, particularly by the idea that some kind of cataclysmic power can rely on ordinary children as a means of saving everyone. there is something deeply unsettling about that premise in both series, where children are essentially made into instruments for dealing with something far beyond what they should ever have to deal with. i was also reminded very strongly of made in abyss, because in both cases you have children constantly being placed in situations that are extremely dangerous and grotesque, often in ways that are far beyond anything they could have possibly imagined beforehand. there are these horrifying, disgusting, unpredictable circumstances that the protagonists are expected to endure despite being children

but alien9 disturbed me for a lot of different reasons, and especially because of the way the other characters treat what is happening compared to evangelion or made in abyss. that is actually a major reason why i found it much more disturbing than either of those two

in evangelion and made in abyss, the horror is much more narrow and, in a strange way, more manageable because the characters themselves recognize that what is happening is horrifying. in evangelion, everyone understands that putting children through these things is horrific; they recognize the cruelty of it, even if they ultimately do it because they believe it is necessary. there is at least an awareness that something terrible is being done to them. in made in abyss, it isn't really a matter of necessity in the same sense, since the world itself is simply dystopian and horrific, but at least the series actually treats it as a dystopian and horrific world. the characters are terrified. it isn't just one person reacting as though something is horribly wrong while everyone else behaves as if everything is perfectly normal. almost everyone is affected by the horror of their circumstances, so you feel much less alienated

that is why alien9 feels much more terrifying to me in practice..

the fact that these little girls are expected to fight these disgusting and dangerous aliens as though it were simply a normal school assignment is incredibly disturbing. it isn't treated as something potentially life-threatening or fundamentally abnormal, but as just another routine part of their education, something that can simply be assigned to little girls instead of adults. and what makes it even stranger is that some of the girls besides yuri actually enjoy it. they want to do it, and for some of them it is even genuinely fun

that made me feel completely alienated alongside yuri, because you're constantly wondering: how can everyone else possibly treat this as normal? how can something like this be reduced to an ordinary school responsibility, something that little girls are simply expected to do, and something that they can even enjoy and have fun with? the fact that there doesn't seem to be any real escape from it made me extremely anxious as well, because the whole thing is handled almost exactly like another school assignment. you can simply be selected for it without having any particular qualifications, without having prepared for it, and without even wanting to participate. you're forced to do it because apparently that's simply how things work

i found that especially anxiety-inducing when yuri very clearly did not want to do it, yet this world apparently has a school system that prioritizes forcing her to participate anyway. there is no meaningful consideration of whether she is psychologically capable of handling it or whether she even wants to. the fact that she is terrified doesn't seem to matter

and the teacher is probably one of the things that disturbed me the most because she treats them almost like resources while simultaneously seeming like a completely ordinary teacher. she doesn't come across as some obviously evil person who is deliberately trying to hurt them. that's almost the point. she seems relatively normal. it is simply that, in her world, this is how things work, and that's that

the mother has a similar effect. she doesn't seem particularly worried either. she can see her daughter constantly crying, anxious, and terrified, and yet essentially tells her that she has to do it because that's simply how school works. it's as though her daughter were crying over homework or some ordinary school obligation rather than because she is genuinely terrified and being forced into something extremely dangerous. there is this complete disconnect between yuri's emotional reality and everyone else's perception of the situation

the world treats all of this as completely normal, and what makes it even stranger is that it doesn't even really feel like a dystopian world. outside of this specific situation, it seems like a completely ordinary japan. there isn't necessarily some obvious oppressive society or visibly monstrous system surrounding them. instead, there is this completely ordinary-looking environment in which one girl's suffering is somehow treated as though it were the abnormal thing

and none of the other girls even really seem to understand why yuri is reacting the way she does. they don't try to become an anchor for her, they don't really try to reassure her or help her as classmates, and instead they sometimes look down on her because of her anxiety. so you're essentially placed in the position of yuri, where it feels as though you are the only person who understands that something is deeply wrong. it makes you feel extremely alienated alongside her because everyone else seems to have collectively accepted something that, from your perspective, is completely insane

it's almost as if yuri is the only person who hasn't been conditioned into accepting this reality. everyone else has adapted to it so thoroughly that her fear becomes the strange thing, rather than the circumstances themselves being considered strange

and then, apart from the psychological aspect, the visual side obviously doesn't help either

like i said, even though i wouldn't consider alien9 as grotesque as something like made in abyss, that element still contributes enormously to the feeling of horror, fear, and disgust. you have these extremely dangerous and unpredictable aliens that are visually slimy and overwhelming compared to the protagonists' young petite bodies, and they are constantly attaching themselves to them. even the fact that it is considered completely normal for these aliens to be attached to the girls' heads is disturbing in itself

then there are things like the aliens wanting to lick the sweat off their bodies and all of that other creepy stuff. there is this very deliberate grotesque quality to the imagery, but there is also a kind of fetishistic element to it, which reminded me somewhat of made in abyss

like made in abyss, it has a lot of undertones involving its young girl protagonists being placed in fetishistic situations. there are quite a few scenes that are very clearly designed with that kind of purpose in mind, including things like bodily fluids being on their faces, characters licking the sweat off their bodies, and various other scenes involving the girls themselves. and for me, that isn't a negative aspect (wouldnt be regardless, im a big perv! ), i think it can actually contribute positively to the horror, because even though those scenes are clearly made, at least in part, for the author's sexual gratification, they also make everything feel even more visually grotesque and uncomfortable

so i think it's the combination of all of these things that made alien9 affect me so much more strongly than other anime that i would objectively expect to be more disturbing. you have the psychological aspect of being the only person who seems to recognize how horrifying the situation is, the complete normalization of children being placed in extreme danger, the lack of any real escape from it, the way adults treat them as resources while behaving as though everything is perfectly ordinary, the fact that some of the children themselves actually enjoy participating in it, the grotesque and overwhelming appearance of the aliens, and then the fetishistic undertones layered on top of all of that

i wasn't expecting it to affect me this much at all i imagine all this was a metaphor for modern japan's society and the way it treats its younglins, i suppose. i'll surely read the manga great ova!

teenage boy and woman anime
i like

Started watching Onimai and realized all anime is gay as fugg.

Recommend me some soft NTR eroge/manga

i.e., not full blown cuck shit, but your crush isnt fully loyal to you, you have to make the rich choices to keep her to yourself (if eroge), there is mild cheating/suspicion/you are (almost) cucked by a rival (or there is a very high chance of it)

I don't want full blown cuck porn, but I don't quite know how to describe what I'm looking for.

they're living my dream (╥‸╥)

Hand Maid May seems to have a similar premise to some other moe-andoroido anime we've watched together, with a brilliant girl-robo arriving some some random computar geek's house. Pantsu no Ana is a quick, perverted single-EP OVA that we will watch before Hand Maid May, as it has a length of 11 episodes with sequel included.

it took med 92hours and about 6 months to finish Fate Stay/Night all 3 routes. Now, when I finally finished it, all that's left is a hole in my heart after you finish something great. For teh three routes, i would say I liked heavens feels teh most, even if Unlimited blade was epik in it'z own way. Worse was teh first one imo. SPOILER!!! Sakura turned out to be such a good anti-hero, and rip illya!!!<3 T_T

Funny enough, i started reading teh VN as i didn't want to spoil myself watching Prism Illya! Now i am free to watch teh final 2 movies!!!
oh~ and Carnival Phantasm~~!!

I will pretend fate hollow ataraxia doesnt exist for a year or so...

I love Mushoku Tensei Rudeus is one of us it is literally the redemption story of a pedophile NEET.

This show was kinda hard to watch at times because of how real it sometimes got and honestly i feel like it had more balls than Welcome to the NHK tbh because the show doesn't hold back on the subject matter and says what it wants to say whereas the NHK anime adaptation dips its toes but is afraid to actually say anything compared to the original NHK novel.

My hero! <3

I just recently watched Otaku No Video and found it as a pretty good and interesting look at Otaku culture at the time. I know that there are different anime that represent Otaku Culture per decade 2000s (Genshiken), 2010s (Arguably Oreimo), and 2020s (Magical Destroyers). I wanted to ask if anyone has more recommendations.

It's comparable to Mononoke or Jigoku Shoujo, but makes use of moar in-depth knowledge about Buddhism, Japanese folklore and rough knowledge of names of places in Japan. It's easy enough to look up stuff while watching, and enjoy it regardless

Who here remembers Harem Potter?

First episode releases in Jabanees time June 2. Are you excited for it? And, more importantly, do you smoke like Chainsmoker cat?

I''S pure OVA is an ecchi school-idol romance from 2006. First & Second EP was hell yeah this is fukking good, then it slowily lost its shine towards teh 6th EP where it just was slow-idol-drama that felt old. Animation was really soild for first ep and was very impressive. I like teh style a lot!

OP was really cool!

https://myanimelist.net/anime/811/Is_Pure

I finished Cutie Honey (1973)
There isn't a whole a lot of time until 70s become closer to 1800s than to the present time

anyone know any ACTUALLY funny comedy animes??!?! pweas.. hlep me out...

For those that like rock and anime.
Honestly, i feel the plot doesn't go anywhere most episodes without it actually being a slice-of-life kind of deal. Also, the animation can get pretty cheap some times. I like it though since it has style

I'm only on episode 11, so no spoiler pls.

I'm reading through NGNL's first novel now. The ecchi being limited with text is a bit meh, but a good part of first chapter was about Sora fondling Steph's chest while Shiro-chan is filming him for later fap material, and Steph getting her pantsu wet from it... It really is a step up from anime version

Basically picrel but for foam clay because it was 0.5 buck and you get 12 color(?) about 1 gram or less? Like tutorials cuz its so soft. also maybe i dont wanna use tools.

Sad manga is great. I want some more tragic manga. Can you reccomend me some? I will give you one, so please give me many more...

Rain's Head (Ame no Kubi) is a little manga that I read about 3 years ago, but still pops up in my mind. It's a very heartwarming story about a homeless girl (loli, since Heyuri loves that) taken in by a taxidermist, and their little story. It's only about 13 pretty short chapters, so please give it a shot.

Or maybe just, teach how to draw Everything, uspide down rotated and so eeteeceeeeteeceee whatever.

refraction, but i think i got what i prefer

Probably not really the audience for this, but I really enjoyed Kachou Shima Kousaku and the several sequel and prequel series. Having read all 17 volumes of the original series, alongside the sequel, Buchou Shima Kousaku, (I am waiting for the translation of the next sequel), I wanted to share it here in case there are people with similar taste.

Would you fuck the evil out of those pesky ghosts?

There are new events due to tsuin enjeru 20th anniversary
They are mostly nippon-specific, but at least they uploaded new MVs to youtube. Includes tamura yukari-sama's kyarason

i think doing this is a bad idea, japan is gonna be fucked...

We will watch Tanin no Kankei and Shin Kyuutii Honey (both from 1994) on the next Saturday (20th), starting 18:00 UTC

Join from here when the time comes: https://watch.heyuri.lol/r/stream

Tanin no Kankei is about an awkward guy teacher getting in some all-girls school, and his relations with a certain trouble student... It's an ecchi show!
For Shin Cutie Honey, it is also seemingly an ecchi show about some superhero girl(?) saving her city from some evil(?). By the way it's a "new" installment for an older version from 1973. MAL lists it as a direct sequel, I don't think it matters a lot (though am yet to watch the older show myself) but for those who care, they can download and watch the old 25-episode series until the day. You can find it with searching "Cutie Honey 1973" on nyaa.

Anyone heard of this new anime?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15ramQm5yF4

Finally a real moe magical girl show with lolis! after all this time! I'm so glad! And Bandai was cool enough to put it all on youtube!

Is it good or bad?

Since there are so few golden series out there, fewer and fewer being made, If you find an old series thats super good, do you watch it all at once? or once a week to get the most enjoyment?

I never heard anyone meantion Sora wo Miageru Shoujo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai, an anime by Kyoto animation, right inbetweenn Clannad & K-on, overcast in their glory, this anime seems to be forgotten. I can't say it looks to interesting, but i can't deny that it's Kyoto animation whose behind it. Ofc i gotten curious for that reason alone.

https://myanimelist.net/anime/5702/Sora_wo_Miageru_Shoujo_no_Hitomi_ni_Utsuru_Sekai

I watched Nagato yuki no shoushitsu, and while teh art style took some time to get used to in comparison with Kyoto animation - it totaled sux0rz horze ass, but once u get used to it. Teh show was pretty good - i saw first ep on air 11 years ago. I finished it a few days ago!

It was surprisingly fun to see Yuki in a none kuudere personality and rather more a very shy and awkward instead! I won't spoil anything, but it had a twist which i wasnt expecting as i just thought it was a romance from start to end. While Haruhi herself take part, i feel she lose her real charm she had in teh origial. I guess this is canon as it's part of teh light novels - so this should take part right after teh disappearance of haruhi? Defentily worth watching if u like teh serie! I regret waiting so long to watch it and it's still better than endless 8!

One of the best anime of 2026 so far.

The show has a lot of fanservice and doesn't censor anything they even bring back the old school pantyshot.

Kanan is hot and a great character and the show is hilarious loving it so far.

I'd really like to be treated like this by a cute girl (´･ω･`)

is /a/ watching anything from the spring 2026 season? Whatre you watching? Whatve you dropped?

i'm a bit surprised because i haven't seen a lot (if any) full metal panic posted to this website, despite there being a favorable view of older anime and manga etc here.

Imagine you're unable to access Internet for 7 years straight starting tomorrow.

What mangas do you wish are in your very ooki storage now, and why do you choose to keep those?

since animekai and the popular anime sites are down now is there any other anime sites that havent been taken down yet?

I watched all 9 Kara no Kyoukai movies! I've it on my ptw for over 15+ and damn i am finally happy i decided to watch it! As a type-moon fan, i really liked their shift towards a more deeper psychological and philosophical aspect in this adaptation. At times it was confusing and was far from telling its story in a linear pattern. But I do enjoy trying stick things together as you watch it. Shiki was also a really awesome characters and liked her a lot! Teh animation was one of teh best i seen at times and very impressive. This anime is sort of an extention of Tsukihime, as Shiki's power in Tsukihime, is teh same as Shikis power in Garden of the sinners. And yes, both have teh same name which has a reason!

We will watch Rosario + Vampire (2008) on the next Saturday (23th), starting 18:00 UTC

It's about an ordinary human boy accidentally enrolling in a high school for youkai, who tries to score with the sexy vampire(s?) he meets there - I dunno much about this anime besides that it's ranked with mild nudity. There are two seasons, but we will only watch the first season together

I was going to ask this to staff-san directly but I figured out a thread is better for preservation of knowledge

I used the below ffmpeg cmd script (created by AI) for some anime and it worked fine, but for the one I'm trying right now it placed the subtitle at wrong location and made the text very small for some reason. Probably because they are in some weird DVD-based format.

@echo off
setlocal enabledelayedexpansion

set "name=%%~nF"
set "out=!name!.mp4"

echo.

If you haven't heard about it, it's a new anime directed by the same guy who did Kite and Mezzo Forte, which we have watched on cytube.

The plot is a lolicon who runs a bounty hunter company is sad that the girl who he met when she was 14 is now 24, so he shoots her and puts her brain in a robot that looks like her 14 year old self. He then forces her to work for him.

Really good action animation as expected.

It's seemingly an ecchi story about a binbou shota getting transported to some weird worlds with his classmate, while trying navigating back to their original world. Besides the shota it features the aforementioned rori classmate and a voluptuous genki woman, so it should appeal to most our users!

We will watch Iketeru Futari (1999), Gokicha!! (2012) and Read or Die OVA (2001) on the next Saturday (21th), starting 18:00 UTC

Iketeru Futari is a short episodic ecchi anime, Gokicha is a moe anime about cockroaches that's merely 16 minutes. We will then watch the OVA for ROD, which is a prequel to a longer (26EPs) TV anime that aired through Fall~Winter of 2003. One of the main characters is an introverted haafu girl (sensei?), I'm looking forward
We will try some replacements for the soon-closing pomf clone we've been using for the last streams, make sure to join and tell how the videos are playing for you - we will use whatever works best for the future streams, as it's not reliable to assess without a crowd.

mangadex is censoring / removing all manga that are loli and claims its due to Legal Reasons!

ｷﾀ━━━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━━━!!

I would do literally all of these with Ranko if that worthless fucking panda didn't get her killed and her friend paralyzed

someone is selling in japan, i want....

Illya 2Wei Herz was one of the best anime i seen in a long time! First 6 eps is pretty much lolicious slice of life where each episode really was fun and enjoyably to watch - while you almost forget its a mahou shoujo. Then @ep7, they pour in all the budget in a single episode. Fuckkking awesome! Im excited for s3+movies!!

Writting is really good, but thats expected from type moon! :3

I watched this 2018 ecchi anime without much expectations... but I 'd

At the latest Panty & Stocking event, Hiroyuki Imaishi spoke about his next anime project. It'll be a gory/hyper-violent show, akin to Happy Tree Friends (his own words). The anime will either be a standalone thing, or a tie-in to P&S.
This sounds like something that at least half of Heyuri would be into, specifically the younger gen obsessed with anything early aughts pop culture and edgy. Personally, I hope it'll be its own thing so there's plenty of room for loli characters

What's like the simplest pose estimation one can use to animate?
Also how do you make real game http://tululoo.com/
>Answer seriously or else

Why are BUNNYS so popular and mass-produced as figures? I'd rather lingerie or swimsuit figures

ｷﾀ━━━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━━━!!

I tried this new anime upscale on Shana. It works pretty damn well, even for shana that has so much "blur/fog" in it. I need to try it a lot more to really see what i think.

We will watch Penguin MusumeHeart (2008) and Netrun-mon THE MOVIE #1 (2004) on the next Saturday (24th), starting 18:00 UTC

Join from here when the time comes: https://watch.heyuri.lol/r/stream

It's not written much about Penguin Musume besides the main character is an otaku girl who becomes her school's seitoukaichou. I'm sure it will be plenty fun!

The other "Movie" is a single short OVA episode we will watch afterwards as we will have enough time left. It's an anime conceived by NetRunner Magazine, directed by PoyoyonRock of Popotan/Komugi-chan/Monogatari
There is more to it including 2channel and Futaba Channel, You should skim it from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netrun-mon?useskin=vector
In short, it requires some familiarity with characters to fully enjoy. We should better do sum research and post the information we gathered on Heyuri boards before the stream begins

あら？ Seems the first EP of the new spin-off(?) of Gintama aired few days ago

This is such a wholesome show but is Nobue Ito a pedo/lolicon? There seems to be some moments in the show that imply that.

I was really enjoying the show I was watching, but now its over, and I'll never see them again unless I rewatch...

it's winter, and winter means new VN! so, i decided to drop all 1000000000000 VN's i've not finished for something new. Anyone played Irotoridori no Sekai?

We will watch Renkin San-kyuu Magical? Pokaan (2006) the next Saturday (20th), starting 18:00 UTC

It's about some non-human girls such as a vampire or an android coming to our world to live in a small house together, and their experience of the human world they didn't learn much about before coming. I think it was mostly an episodic show, with plenty of cuteness and (some) ecchi

You are walking down a street, when suddenly, a portal opens right in front of you. You trip and fall in, and find yourselves teleported to a strange and distant world. Furthermore, a girl, who summoned you, has made you her servant, and keeps you chained up next to her bed, doing laundry and other chores...

What do you do? ( ´ω`)

How to measure quality in anime, by traffic or its likely sales. Or just content posts.

The animu grills are cute and all, but post some COOL ASS MEN.

C'MON, C'MON, ASSHOLE! SAY HIS NAME!
JAGI-SAMA! THE TRUE INHERITOR OF HOKUTO NO KEN!

As of EP4, I approve this show!

ｷﾀ━━━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━━━!!

i remember finding this manga when looking for another one and it intrigued me. it's about this woman who's taking care of her late friend's son who's a vampire

I made a hand-drawn video of Girls’ Last Tour based on a certain dance video.

i love kaguya sama so much

I made this image as a joke, but honestly most yuri anime these days is so boring and barren. I don't care for an all girls school love story, I want drama and violence. Is there any show/manga that has that that I might've missed out on?

課長王子 (Kachou Ouji) a.k.a. Section Manager Ouji a.k.a. the legend of black heaven. ( ´ω`) (NO spoilers in my post)

This show combined two of my favorite things, ROCK and SPACE. It's a little old but quite charming. Funny, and a really epic OP. It's been stuck in my head for a while

Ouji, a aged and tired salaryman, lives his dull and boring life day to day, reminiscing about his past life as a rocker and band member. His life will take a sudden turn when he meets his new, strange coworker...

The show is epic and action filled, and has alot of cool sequences, yet not too serious, and also has a handful of cute characters for your pleasure ( ´ω`) Despite being rated R, it contains very little R18 scenes.

I think we should rate in anime. this one is my favourite

can anyone teach me about the os tans? ill admit i dont know much about them...(;´Д`)

How big is too big?

whats your opinion on s4 of rozen maiden?

Why did they lobotomize Kyon in the movie? Should the Japanese be b& from writing movies or acting in them? Everything they do is so ham fisted

been watching princession orchestra
fun show so far
it's spearheaded by the people who did symphogear, but this time they're doing an actual shoujo anime for shoujo

the designs are very cute, but they also mean we get to get stuff like pic related ヽ(´∇`)ノ
but no, it is an actually cute girly girl show where they travel to a magic website with a world entirely for girls and fight bad guys who want to take the inspiration out of people
any fanservice is limited to a handful of frames whenever the animators thought they could totally get away with it

it is a show in the same vein as precure although I am tempted to say that precure's writing is solidly better
this isn't exactly a fair comparison (precure gets the absolute lion's share of talent when it comes to toei anime, it is kind of worrying how much better it looks than most other shows they've made lately)

the singing while fighting that it inherits from symphogear remains great
100% cool every goddamn time, and I am incredibly disappointed that kimi to idol precure didn't do it (I am also disappointed that idol precure didn't do the singing transformations like in star twinkle precure lol)

tl;dr: ripple kawaii, go watch her show

We will watch Elfen Lied (2004) the next Saturday (22nd), starting 18:00 UTC

Join from here when the time comes: https://watch.heyuri.lol/r/stream

Elfen Lied is a classic anime that a lot of us have voted for rewatching anyways, but it's about a murderous human experiment girl turned chii (or maybe puchiko, nyu), it also has plenty of guro, ZOMG BEWBZ, cute dogs... and a more srs side but this is the extend I should write here

when i was little, my favorite character was komasan..and i hated Manjimutt..

Do you have a glasses fetish? If so what are your favorite megane characters and types of glasses?

Why did they have to nerf her boobs like that, I hate this puritanical censorship!

Do you think that, in the future, AI will be able to give Bocchi her boobs back in the anime?

ｷﾀ━━━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━━━!!

Anyone here watch Shin-chan on Sundays?

replace fish with VN -> thats me! Uguu~~

I sort of thinking of play Kanon, should I?

Cute and pretty girl

We will watch Strike Witches (2008) the next Saturday (20th), starting 18:00 UTC

This is the first season of a seemingly long running series, but we will only watch the first season. It's about... nekomimi girls VS aliens? The synopsis on MAL is confusing but I don't feel liek the plot will matter much, and seems it's R+ rated let's figure out how it'll please the audience together
Due to the technical issues in the last few streams, we will attempt holding this on a streaming instance a volunteer user is hosting on Heyuri's bunker site: https://watch.heyuri.lol/r/stream
It's similar to the cytube channel we've been using, you may register an account if you want to but guest participating (ie. with a temporary alias) is just fine too. If everything goes well, we will use there from now on.
You will (if it werks right) also see a pop up once, before 24 hours the stream begins, as it turns out global message is easy to miss out once u get used to it.

And I'm pasting this each time, but it's impr0tant...:

The detail of manko lines animators are allowed to draw in a given anime is directly proportional to its fun level

it’s actually pretty funny

I wanted to find something that made me feel the same sense of wonder and nostalgia as Erased, and everything Gemini recommended I have already watched. I kept pushing it for more and I ended up watching this. So far it's pretty poor in the time travel department, but it has lots of fan service.

What are your favorite time travel anime shows? Have you found anything comparable to Erased (if you know the feeling I mean)?

raep time

What do you think is the rarest anime figure on earth?

picture not related, i dont know what is most rarest

Are they the same?

We will watch Mahoutsukai Tai! (1996～97) and Idol Bouei-tai Hummingbird (1993～95) on the next Saturday (18th), starting 18:00 UTC

Join from here when the time comes: https://watch.heyuri.lol/r/stream
Since the last stream went ahead without problems, we are planning to use our new (own) cytube instance from now on, old one being the backup one

Mahoutsukai-tai is about a school's magic club, it has a perverted president, cute girls, and a homo vice-prez... It hasn't been too long since I watched this one, but I don't really remember the plot, I think they were saving the world somehow? It has some promotional videos too, here is the first one: https://www.vidlii.com/watch?v=I-VKL-gMoxk (I think others are just songs or untranslated).
As for the other show known as just "Hummingbirds" in the West, it's apparently about Japanese government employing aidoru singers in control of their air force planes. Sasuga Nippon! It's good if they don't need to attempt kamikaze attacks...

i really like all the works from KEY but specifically little busters is my favorite ヽ(´ー｀)ノ

Will we be watching season 2?

cheese

Looking back it was sort of egregious how all Hollywood had to do for Inception was rewrite an Japanese movie (based on a Japanese book) to be worse and get big names on the project to make triple the box office numbers and become much more well known in pop culture (;´Д`)

Are there any other examples of this that stick out to anyone? I'm not talking about the Netflix adaptations and related stuff, I mean Westerners jacking Japan's shit and not acknowledging that they did to sell to a different audience (;´Д`)

We will watch Mitsuboshi Colors (2018) the next Saturday (23th), starting 18:00 UTC

It seems this is another iyashikei anime with rori. This is the single most recently aired anime we'll have watched on Heyuri, with the second being Kill me Baby from 2012 (that we watched as monthly anime of May 2021), probably rose to #1 of anime nominations due to the single scene people know from the anime (refer to teh pic)

I don't normally care for romance, but I've seen a lot of people claim that this is really good. First episode aired today. Is it worth a watch?

ｷﾀ━━━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━━━!!

Why do anime clubs attract the worst kinds? In high school the one I went to watched the same mainstream shounen/shojoshit everyne already knew about and was house to the school's known turboautists. I went to one the other day as a grown-ass man and the club was just the same highschooler types but grown up. You had:
- the genuinely retarded girl who hasn't seen anything new in twenty years
- the collection of meek shounentards who can barely speak
- the young guy with shit taste
- the twenty-something who's obsessed with 2000's anime because FOMO and it's trendy
- the old dude who grew up on mecha and robotech but attends to try to pick up fat brown chicks
- the older millenials who are actually cool and barely want to be there

Talking to the twenty-something was funny. We were all talking about conventions and he says that he wants the "hare hare yukai" and "lucky star" dances to be popular again. I asked him "Didn't you get enough of that the first time around?" and the other guys laughed and agreed with me, but he started talking about how he got into anime too late and some other sad shit.

I honestly don't know why people still go to these things. The Internet is a much better place to find people that actually watch anime; if I want to find cool people IRL I'll go to a convention.

So, has anyone seen this? Last episode aired yesterday.

For me, it's one of those few works which themes have penetrated my heart and message has infiltrated my mind. I think it's really sublime. Every episode has brought me to tears, I'll always carry this anime in my heart.

It's a short story, only 6 episodes long, about life's hardships and the power of empathy. It follows the alien Takopii, who has just landed on Earth, and its mission to spread happiness in the universe. He meets Shizuka, a sad little girl who is bullied at school. Takopii will try to make Shizuka smile, but he still has a lot to learn about humans.

The anime dives into the minds of 3 children who suffer from abuse/trauma and explores themes such as generational trauma, bullism and the effects that a negative environment has on a child's mind, the power of talking, understanding the other and lastly, resilience.

Not only it is a great story, but it's also a beautiful anime. Directing, illustrations, animation, soundtrack and voice acting are all top notch, it's a truly highest-quality adaptation. Speaking of voice acting, Shizuka's VA deserves a standing ovation, never before has a Japanese VA in anime managed to send shivers down my spine like she did.

In short, I think it's a masterpiece and you should watch it.

funny man<3

Is the Blue Exorcist Manga worth reading? I watched seasons 1 and 2 a bit ago and I want to revisit the series

I deeply miss the crafty and niche aspect of otaku culture, subcultures that arent mainstream, maybe offensive, and a focus around the creative aspects of otaku culture as well. It was truly a spirit that came from the heart and wasnt afraid about being socially acceptable. (´ー` )

Nowadays its all sanitized, and consumer oriented, rarely do i hear about people making things.
In the early days of otaku culture people made a lot of things themselves, because merch simply wasnt available - figures for example, dojin games, etc.

How on earth do you facilitate the desire for people to create that kind of environment, i think the demand is there but not enough people know what to DO, how to MAKE things, how to form communities centered around niche subjects, how do we fix that?

what are we going to do in the box heyuri-san?

pomf =3

Has heyuri ever watched Rozen Maiden together on cytube? Would really love to rewatch it together with you guys since it's an imageboard classic.

ONE ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ got a remake 2023. I beat non of u really know this game, but it's KEY before they started KEY! Im DL both - but cant decide. I am of leaning of playing the 1998 version. Both are voiced.

i have a list of anime that i plan to watch or have already watched, from the 90s to 2010s that are popular with otaku. there are a few i didn't include because i either watched and didn't like it, or don't think it'd be something i'd like. am i missing anything? anyone have any suggestions? i am open to stuff from the 2020s, i'm just not sure what's popular or even coming out these days that isn't mainstream since i haven't really been involved in the otaku/anime community in a long time (at least the ones who talk about newer stuff that's more niche or too "anime" for the average watcher. most of my friends like and talk about the more mainstream stuff (some aren't as mainstream but still have the feel of being so), and not saying that as a bad thing because some of them are good, but that's how i find out about newer anime and no one i know talks about anything that might go under the radar for the average modern anime watcher. i have one friend who likes some more kind of niche newer anime, but not really anime nerd kind of niche). there are other anime that aren't on here that i do like, but i don't feel like they fit on the list so i didn't include them. i'm also open to manga and VN/game suggestions, but i'm not going to make a list for those since the post would be too long.
