We will watch Mitsuboshi Colors (2018) the next Saturday (23th), starting 18:00 UTC

It seems this is another iyashikei anime with rori. This is the single most recently aired anime we'll have watched on Heyuri, with the second being Kill me Baby from 2012 (that we watched as monthly anime of May 2021), probably rose to #1 of anime nominations due to the single scene people know from the anime (refer to teh pic) :nyaoo-closedeyes:

For newcomers, you can find the detailed information and our previous streams from here: https://wiki.heyuri.net/index.php?title=Heyuri_Cytube
Heyuri's rules apply in the CyTube channel.

Also please fill our nominations page where we pick these shows from: https://cgi.heyuri.net/nominate/ - you must log in at least once every 4~ months to keep your votes intact!

4.5 hours! ★

I already drank too much yesterday, so I'll have to be sober for this one... So I'm gonna cook some fried rice with meat, and make it feel special that way instead!
>>
it's about to begin! seems not very crowded today
>>
Stream freezes about as frequently as with Popotan for me. Which is weird as Colors have super detailed art and Popotan had simple colors with no gradients and smaller picture. So it's not a bandwidth problem by the looks of it.

>>5227
I don't know what files the stream is using but looking at the most popular torrents on nyaa, they're both about 1.5GB per episode.
>>
The stream is using episodes specifically encoded by Heyuri staff for web viewing
>>
>>5229
waha hand encodes these if i remember correctly. the first episode metadata says its based on [Polarwindz] Mitsuboshi Colors - 01 [BD 1080p x265 10bit Opus 2.0] and it has an average bitrate of 609kb/s. one 445kb/s h264 stream in 720x480, an aac stream in 164kb/s, and one embedded subtitle data in english. do with this information what you will i dont have episodes of less issues shows on hand i believe its all server bandwidth and such though

>Polarwindz
did he add the HAS subs to that or are you guys watching it with no typesetting?

use AV1 or VP9, just look how small this file is for a full minute
>>
>>5231
For me it starts buffering and never stops before I refresh the page. It should theoretically start playing on its own eventually if it was a bandwidth issue, especially since it plays well for five minutes or so after a refresh.

I had streams where it works flawless and others where I struggle. Last night I tried most things I could at my end but gave up after awhile.

I don't get it
why are they so amatorial?
american do have great voice acting talent.
the reason dub might fail here is because of mediocre localitation , badly fitting voice or bad directing;
not because they hired a random homless girl.
>>
I don't get why anime studios or publishers don't hire english-speaking japanese girls to do dubs instead of outsourcing it
>>
>>5260
All of that requires more money than smaller productions are willing to put, or even have. Why hire great VAs and make a really good dub, when so few people are going to watch it? You don't get any profit from doing that.

>>5261
It's international publishers role to localize a product. Japanese publishers don't care about that, and studios' only role is to make the anime, not localize it. Besides, that's a terrible idea.
>>
>>5261
one thing that bothers me too is this: when anime studios are picking a voice actor for a character who is a foreigner, why do they hire a japanese person who can't speak english to voice them?
surely they could pick up any random foreigner english teacher and pay him like 75 bucks to record his lines in an hour. even an untrained VA sounds better than a trained one if he can actually speak the damn language.
>>
>>5271
Three guesses. One is that its a business policy and they would prefer maintaining/growing connections among one another. This would allow them to also reuse the VA for other non english speaking scenes. Second guess is that they believe the bad pronunciation will be easier for native listeners to understand compared to normal english. It sounds contradictory but a japanese person who does not know english will force its pronunciation to sound japanese. Even if they tell the untrained foreigner to slow down it might still be too fast for the japanese. Third guess is that it's a fun tradition and is adds charm to anime as a hobby
>>
>>5276
My suspicion is that they (as in, a significant enough majority) simply don't realize it's wrong. Maybe because they actually learn this abomination in class instead of English (not limited to Japan of course.) Or, monolinguals are oblivious to differences in pronunciation.
>>
>>5277
I notice this in North American shows with Spanish-speaking characters all the time. Sometimes it's so bad, it's impossible to understand what they're saying as a native Spanish speaker.
>>
yay another cytube :onigiri::mona2:
