Rychuvak was k♡♡zs "failed" company that lasted from 2014 up until late 2018 after the big bitcoin rush, in which he used this company to profit greatly from. It was a russian bitcoin marketplace very similar to localbitcoins.org but in russian and had some added features such as escrow (which lb recently added), buying/selling directly to rychuvak, etc. But on december 22nd 2017, the same day 9chan shut down, the site went offline. It was not the biggest, but definitley one of top 10 bitcoin exchange sites in Russia and eastern europe, the site inevitably did come back on a week later but ALL the money in the escrows was gone, completely vanished, at any given time, up to 50-60k USD was in a state of transfer, some users found their accounts missing or wiped, and others had lost lots of money. Vass Boldizsár, the primary developer of the site, said that due to court orders revolving KolymaNET (the parent company of all of k♡♡zs stuff), 9chan and ryvuchak were to be shut down. He gave everyone 1 month to withdraw everything and then the site, and any remaining money would be shut down. k♡♡z and Vass both declined all questions about the missing money.

Everyone knows about how 9chan got shut down, but the rychuvak ordeal is a little known part of history that is often overlooked. It should serve as an important warning for similar sites in the future, and k♡♡zs sites in general.

(not op)
rychuvak was most certainly a real thing, OPs story is a little different than i remember it. Arhivach and yandexweb have some archives of the site, so I will look for it. although, i only ever used the onion mirror.

What would you all think about a Heyuri-Ran site similar to KNN? Of course it would be focused on imageboard news and other related stuff, but unlike KNN would be volunteer-ran, so anyone can make new articles and stuff.

Cool idea? Let me know what you think happy

Do you all even understand the dicksword? Its 99% used for notifications and development updates, its almost completely dead chat-wise.
>>
I don't know where to put this because I'm not joining an IRC for a site that I just visited today, but the sage button on the textboards (or at least lounge) doesn't work.
>>
>>2363
whats wrong with joining an irc on day 1?
>>
>>2364
Nothing but
>I've never used IRC before even when it was common so I don't know if I want to go through whatever steps are necessary to join it yet
>I don't know general feel of the site yet, so I don't know yet if I'm going to stick around
I mean I use other slow speed anonymous boards so I don't see why I wouldn't, but who knows. Maybe something will rub me the wrong way, or maybe I'll love. I gotta give it time.

Adding to this, I've tried /tea/ a couple of times and the community just didn't sit well with me, always felt like an outsider despite giving it about a month. But I use bus stop religiously. It all just depends.

It's become something of a "tradition" here at this point, but... Shift-JIS art (AA) is currently b0rked on /sjis/! Here's some info on how to fix it (and hopefully forevar!!):

- The original and true AA font is MS PGothic (MS Pゴシック), at 12pt size. This is how 2channel, Ayashii World, and many other Japanese sites of that era were expected to be displayed - mainly because it was the default Japanese font setting on Internet Explorer 4 and beyond!

- As the name suggests, MS PGothic is a proportional (i.e. latin characters not monospaced) and gothic (sans-serif) Japanese font made by Microsoft, and it's been bundled with Japanese-region Windows since Windows 95 (and all regions since XP)

- Heyuri's textboards currently have MS PGothic listed in the font stacks of the Psuedo0ch and KolymaBBS styles (absent in Ayashii), but also listed are fonts that are not metrically-compatible with MS PGothic (and thus break AA art) - such as Osaka (Mac) and Meiryo (Windows Vista onwards) - and those are currently being given higher priority over MS PGothic by being placed earlier in the list

- Non-Windows OSes won't have MS PGothic installed, so those users will need a metrically-compatible substitute. One classic substitute is the mona font created by 2ch users: http://monafont.sourceforge.net . The mona font is relatively large at 3 MB, so it's not recommended to serve it to users as a web font (although some sites do anyway)

- There's a more lightweight version of mona called submona. The bitmap/pixel glyphs have been stripped out, which gets the size down to 52 KB at the cost of some minor inaccuracies:
https://github.com/pera/submona-web-font

- Quoting the usage section of submona's readme:
>Add a new @font-face at-rule for submona into your CSS, and then append the new submona font-family to the class you already use for Shift_JIS art. It will look something like this:
>@font-face {
> font-family: 'submona';
> src: url('submona.woff') format('woff');
>}
>
>.sjis {
> font-family: IPAMonaPGothic, 'IPA モナー Pゴシック', Monapo, Mona, 'MS Pgothic', 'MS Pゴシック', submona;
>}

The font stack above should give you fairly good compatibility with the various AA-compatible fonts that people may have installed. For the /sjis/ board (or maybe all the textboards if you want the traditional Japanese BBS look), it would be best to simply apply the above font stack to the entire page body. You can see how this works in action on 4-ch's ASCII board, where they've done exactly this: https://4-ch.net/ascii/

- Make sure that it appears correctly on all existing textboard styles, because in their current state they are all trying to make their own changes to the body font

- I recommend removing "white-space: pre-wrap;" from the CSS, because you're not supposed to be able to string multiple regular-size spaces together in AA. Anything you make by doing this will be FUBAR when displayed elsewhere, including AA editors. You typically create large whitespace areas by stringing together full-width spaces (these → ←), or alternating between full-width and regular spaces.

- It's worth noting that Firefox displays MS PGothic with a larger line-height than both IE and Chrome, which elongates AA in an undesirable way. This can be easily fixed by adding "line-height: 1" to the CSS
