"trolling" is a word that people are now using to refer a lot of different things, from pushing political agendas to angering people for the sake of it

However, attempting to actually "troll" other Heyuri users is more likely to end up as just you making annoying posts (and trolling isn't an excuse to being annoying), so I endorse just having fun in the normal way

They were the start of the nu-web. One of the things that makes Heyuri "Heyuri" is that it's a celebration of the internet culture that predated that era

That's generally allowed, just not when the target of the troll is Heyuri itself and/or you're not even trying to make the general Heyuri userbase laugh (e.g. making crappy posts on purpose to "troll" the site, being an angry asshole to everyone, attempting to drive rule-abiding users away, etc.)

You're totally welcome to report on some elaborate prank you recently pulled off, or tease a n00b who shows up here acting all superior, or mess with some poorly-coded imageboard that tries to advertise itself here (*cough*), and so on. As long as your goal is to make other Heyuri users LOL and you don't totally suck at it, it's probably fine

rage comics are funny and mods suck for being stuck up about it. Heyuri never had a council about what was "2000s enough" to be allowed here. It didn't even ban new memes: with one exception. jaks and frogs and a few shitposting phrases.
