LOUNGE NEEDS TO BE CLEANED
>>
Bring back W.T. Kuz-style moderation site-wide! biggrin

Laissez-faire moderation = SUX, also serious business meta discussions should be more actively redirected to /q/ like teh old days, otherwise every board just becomes /q/+ (it's true)

Unstickying teh sticky will help cuz stickies prevent users from seeing new posts at a glance and basically kill teh board. /q/-tan might have perma-grump syndrome, but even she deserves love and hugs and maybe also sum PENIS (mine)

did something happen?

I thought /lounge/ was supposed to be the one freedom loving board we had! I understand moderating /b/ heavier but is heyuri really even that fun if you dont have anyone to argue with? No trolls? That sounds sad...
>>
SAVE THE TROLLS!!! if they want to be annoying faggots let them just don't respond. if they break the rules then they get "cleaned" up.. heyuri is for teh funz

It was me who posted https://img.heyuri.net/sw/bbs.php?m=f&s=2402&c=58 on /sw/ if it's what you are talking about. It wasn't a request to moderators (which is myself LOL), but a note to you (other Heyurizens) smile
Shall I need to post something similar again, you don't need to worry about it not being in a more active way.

I think it's best to look things in case by case basis, so what I am telling now might not be always be valid but -
>I understand moderating /b/ heavier
r00lz are always r00lz, it makes no sense to adjust them by board(except R6's political discussion part, but it's yet to cause any issues). Though R8 has it's focus on certain images (thus harder to break on /lounge/), we don't have to tolerate trolls anywhere to be freedom-loving in the meanwhile.
>is heyuri really even that fun if you dont have anyone to argue with
I don't think arguing is against any rules biggrin
See the first rule: "In mature threads, be mature" - Mature discussions DO belong on Heyuri! And guess what? Trolls are NOT mature, they are retarded!

>Bring back W.T. Kuz-style moderation site-wide!
i'd agree with such a style of moderation had we more users. i don't think banning is gonna get us anywhere unless it's breaking the rules hard time. we already have such an established culture that i feel like the lurkers and the people who do post already have a good understanding how heyuri runs
>Unstickying teh sticky will help cuz stickies prevent users from seeing new posts at a glance and basically kill teh board.
in order to remedy that, we should get an overboard... nothin wrong with stickies, they're helpful on meta boards like /q/ and highlight important/memorable threads on /b/ and such
>>
>>60920
>I thought /lounge/ was supposed to be the one freedom loving board we had!
Last time it was discussed here, /lounge/ was decreed to be "not a toilet"!

Anywayz, my post (60917) wasn't really referring to /lounge/ specifically like OPs, but more the entire site - such as /b/, which currently has fags asking for freaking GREENTEXT STORIES of all things. WHERE R TEH B&HAMMERS????/

>is heyuri really even that fun if you dont have anyone to argue with? No trolls?
I don't mind fun/interesting debates or high-effort trolls who are taking aim at places/people outside of Heyuri (assuming they deserve it) and sharing the tales of their WINs here, but low-effort trolls who are just looking to get a cheap rise out of Heyuri's userbase freaking suck!

Goddammit kuz. It's not Heyuri if you stop running it like Heyuri - especially if u start "running it" like some Shii-influenced shithole where nothing is ever baleeted except CP sweat3

>>60922
I made that post many hours before ur Strange World post... glare

>>60923
It's not just about bans, but establishing and reinforcing the existing rules and site culture through mod intervention, warnings, and baleetions - all of which helped shape Heyuri's culture into what it is!

If users are suddenly suggesting that greentext stories should be allowed on Heyuri, then clearly we've got some serious n00bs on board who don't get what Heyuri even is - our culture is at high risk of being destroyed!! sweat

>in order to remedy that, we should get an overboard...
We used to have one, but it was never restored after the switch to kokonotsuba sad

>nothin wrong with stickies, they're helpful on meta boards like /q/ and highlight important/memorable threads on /b/ and such
I was talking about dead stickies that have been up for weeks/months, like the one that was here on /q/. An occasional shortlived sticky is fine, but leaving one up 4evar on a slow board like this just makes the board look teh deadz0rs and wards off new posts
>>
>I made that post many hours before ur Strange World post...
Yes you're right, my bad. But I didn't notice your post in this thread until I saw more notifications from this thread at a later time
(;^Д^)

>which currently has fags asking for freaking GREENTEXT STORIES of all things. WHERE R TEH B&HAMMERS????/
In the past I remember public B&'ing someone for posting a "greentext story" and misusing quoting features, but I usually check someone's past posts before banning. Those people were using Heyuri long enough to know what they shouldn't post, but in this case they were just cute clueless newbies who I didn't want to scare away, and someone else told them about the bans in the past anyways. I admit perhaps being too lenient about moderating posts recently, but I am kind of in dilemma about choosing between being somewhat more tolerant enforcing rules as long as users are having fun and giving them to adjust themselves to our culture, and a PPD of around 5~.

Also note that I am a student with too much RL responsibilities/so little free time and kuz is a middle aged married man who saw the height of Heyuri under his management, potentially making him less devoted for Heyuri compared to sweet 2020 lockdowns (this isn't his words, but my merely guess)

I will have somewhat more free time next week (in 7 days) and the week after that, I may then work on a kind of "museum" of old WIN posts here (both /q/ and /b/), updating rules and improving netiquette, if I get to do such thing, I am certain it will keep everyone more motivated to post moar WINs and draw moar suitable people to Heyuri.
...One problem is, I am not sure if I will success finding the posts I remember. Looking back now, I can notice maybe 80% of them were written by you, ultimately leading me to frequent Heyuri more and more often, noticing its struggles in moderation, volunteering as a janitor to clean up stuff and making me post this today instead of moving on liek half of old userbase.

So my request is, you being some kind of a "counselor" for me. I figured out you haet responsibilities of an internet moderator, but still end up spending what I assume is hours to write up posts to guide our management. If you leave some kind of personal contact (either by finishing that PO box project or sending me an e-mail at kaguya@kolyma.org, IRC, or anything that suits u rly), you will be able to effortlessly tell me what kind of moderation you are expecting, or at least send archives of some of your posts I will ask for on internet archive if you have them saved somewhere. If this kind of personal contact is really against your style, I can understand that too. In that case, I will make a public thread here on /q/ when I have free time, and try accomplishing what I have in my mind - even if noone helps me with it T_T

Finally... I guess I should thank you for all your contributions so far to Heyuri, and ask you to continue being with us through we are restoring Heyuri to be better it has ever been, even compared to what we will refer as "so-called" Golden Times in the future xd
>>
>I may then work on a kind of "museum"
I kind of started it but only as an idea, I will make a new thread about it now.

>If you leave some kind of personal contact (either by finishing that PO box project or sending me an e-mail at kaguya@kolyma.org, IRC, or anything that suits u rly), you will be able to effortlessly tell me what kind of moderation you are expecting
I decided to make some kind of feedback feature for everyone to be able to contact moderation directly. I figured out this kind of private communication might bring the least responsibility, as being too involved can cause burn outs, something I totally don't want anyone to experience sweat

Forgive teh laet reply - I was super ill with "that" for several days, and then I had a severe case of AFK syndrome, but I'm in a little better shape now... Heyuri's ISP on the other hand... sweat3

At least 5000% of all "golden age" Heyuri OC relates to kuz and how he used his b&hammer to beat the users into shape (and even other staff members) - this is Heyuri culture!!

Throw lenience out teh window and weild that mighty mod mallet like a MAN!!!

If only u knew... sweat2

>I figured out you haet responsibilities of an internet moderator
I haet responsibilities in general, but I have moderated various places that aren't Heyuri for years (I'm even a board owner! WOW MAI E-PEEN IS TEH HUUUEG!!!11). I've offered to volunteer on Heyuri during states of emergency before, but if it's not imperative to Heyuri's immediate survival then I'd rather just remain a general user / mysterious internet entity and offer my guidance from afar nyaoo-closedeyes

OH NOE! astonish Happy to hear you are recovering

>Throw lenience out teh window and weild that mighty mod mallet like a MAN!!!
I remember writing before that's how I usually approached as well, but that was when newbies could learn a thing or two while lurking. Not the case anymore (RIP 100+ pages of ultimate knowledge ;_;7) so I was hesitating with mah B&s, but if that's what you want, expect to see moar red texts under posts soon nyaoo-closedeyes

>if it's not imperative to Heyuri's immediate survival then I'd rather just remain a general user / mysterious internet entity and offer my guidance from afar
That's pretty fair, I kind of haet responsibilities myself as well (who doesn't?) but don't overestimate how much some random staff actually needs to care about their work. I started as just a janitor in an emergency situation before, but me being interested enough about Heyuri has lead kuz to give more powar, thus slowly feed e-peen enlarger pills to me ph34r
Those shady ads you see at Jump links aren't all scam apparently!

You know, mod-sama. Of all of us here on heyuri, you are without doubt the most mysterious of them all... as you are the only one without a real tripfag as I am aware of. I am pretty sure I've talked with you on cystream. However, I've still not connected all the dots just yet. I've my guesses tho. sweat2
