I 300% have no idea how to fix the foreground wave. I definitely got lost somewhere and I have no idea how to get it closer to what he got.
I do like the colors I ended up with. Very dreamy.

this is so good

have you done this with the mouse?

[2949] Re: Untitled : Anonymous : 2024/08/21(Wed) 00:11

my drawings are all mouse, unless otherwise mentioned
I do have a tablet, but it's small and kind of crap and I don't have the drivers installed on this machine
and afaik I have a few programs that apparently hate Wacom drivers being installed (!)

I do have a Linux machine and it just works with the tablet, so I guess I could use that, but I am being a mouse artist for now.

as an aside, if you want to try this sort of thing here with PBBS, here are a few tips
* 99% of my strokes are with the brush in watercolor mode
* lower the opacity a bunch when blending stuff, and remember it gets auto-adjusted based on the brush size, so change it after, not before
* the mixing in watercolor mode is wonky (honestly, pbbs's color mixing in general is wonky) so I will often use right-click to select a blended color from the drawing and manually try and blend stuff
* sometimes I use halftone and blur to add a bit of texture
* drawing with a mouse is a minor form of masochism :D

great work
good reminder for my lazy ass that anyone can do it as long as they put in the effort!

Genuinely, just watch the video in the OP and try it yourself in whatever paint program you like!
Landscape painting is a lot easier than you'd expect.

I mostly gave this a go after seeing someone on Youtube try and follow a Bob Ross episode in MS Paint and it didn't look half-bad.
