Can this place please consider removing the length of time for threads where they become unbumpable (or extend it to 2,3 weeks? It's especially frustrating now that /b/ goes back many months, and you can't continue the convo on an old thread you find interesting because no one will see the reply. This is not, IIRC, how old image boards used to work, and I know Heyuri is about being a bit old fashioned. It's very stifling to conversation to always have to make a new thread for the same topic, plus it adds to more threads being made which doesn't keep things neat and tidy.

I am replying to a thread talking about VPN use / Japanese IPs / Futaba Channel, but the thread did not move up the board:

No

DENIED!

The relatively short time-based autosage on Off-Topic is intentional, and is there to inspire the rapid creation of new threads as opposed to propping up the same old stale ones for weeks/months/years. This is a core tenet of the board, and makes it more exciting/unpredictable like Futaba's Nijiura and other classic fast-paced imageboards. The old threads are just there for lurking/reminiscing purposes

Either make a new thread on Off-Topic or post to Lounge if u want a long-term discussion

Fun fact: it used to be set to 3 days, but we increased it to 7 during a particularly slow period several years ago. If anything, we should consider reducing it... ヽ(`∇´)ノ
