While you were wasting your life on the internet, i beat Sonic the Hedgehog 2
>>
sonic 2 is mostly some good shit, although I think the game goes to hell after Metropolis (specifically, act 3; why the fuck does that stage get an act 3)
did you go through S3&K yet?
>>
>although I think the game goes to hell after Metropolis
Metropolis zone is bullshit. Sky Chase and Wing Fortress are alright in my book. WF specifically it's just about knowing where to go and having solid nerves for the boss fight.

Here's how i'd rank the zones:
1.Chemical Plant
2. Casino Night
3. Sky Chase + Wing Fortress
4. Emerald Hill
5. Mystic Cave
6. Hilltop
7. Aquatic Ruin
8. Oil Ocean
9. Metropolis

>did you go through S3&K yet?
I haven't, but definitely will in a couple of months . My main dilemma is wheter to treat them as stand-alones or beat them back-to-back :dizzy:
>>
omedeto! i can usually get to oil ocean before getting too bored to complete it. But the furthest i've gotten is the mecha sonic boss which i've never been able to beat :sweat2:

S3&K is best experienced as one single game rather than in each part; it really was only split in half because they ran out of time

aquatic ruin is a weird level because you can quite easily never touch the water
but it goes to shit the moment that you do

I can't stand wing fortress and sky chase puts me to sleep

Get yourself a ROM that is both games as one! Best, and honestly the only way to play them. As standalones they are rather incomplete. But together, they make for the best classic Sonic in my opinio

Mecha Sonic is literally right before the final boss. The attack pattern is always the same, so if you get there with a fair bunch of lives you can get it down pretty quick ( ´ω`)

yeah that's what made losing to it feel so bad (;´Д`)

sounds about right. The last time i got there was when i was playing with an actual mega drive when i was around 13... so i could probably beat it now with an emulator
