The way the index works is that, the thread with the most recent reply is at the top. This is great because it shows us which threads are active, and boring ones naturally sink to the bottom. However, no one has applied this philosophy to replies too.

To make replies bumpable, either quotelinking or giving a "Yeah" should make them the first post underneath the thread

What does everyone think?

instead of changing position, we had some userscripts that highlights yeah'd posts with colors. That's how I've observed multiple Japanese sites go with voting on replies

It should stay an userscript, every post should get equal attention. Highlighting highest rated posts is why reddit has a "hivemind" where the one most popular opinion dominates other ones.
