"Baby boomer" isn't banned - it's things like "ok boomer", "i'm a 30yo boomer", "i don't play boomer video games" that are banned

It doesn't matter if a term becomes more widespread/mainstream - "based" and "cringe" were already commonplace when the rule against them was established

You can say "Baby boomer", and "Gen Z" isn't banned in itself but it's obnoxious when older people complain about people younger than them -even if seemingly rightfully-, so such discussions may often get deleted

You can think 2006 in specific is the cutoff year on Heyuri for possibility of banning new words/trends (eg. boxxy of 2008) but it's often applied case by case. Though for words, it's not my native language so I leave applying specifics to mods when in doubt
And posts submitted in good faith won't get you b&, so don't be too hesitant of posting what you have in mind to the point of not making posts u intended making, as long as you won't get upset if your post happens to be deleted

not that mods dont = fags but yeah its GEN Z not zoomer, the whole thing comes from this reverse forum sliding operation where people were calling out actual baby boomers for being hugely responsible for ruining America, "OK BOOMER" this was a twitter thing at first since at the time twitter was where everything happened first not 4chan. So the narrative controllers created this "30 year old boomer" meme where if you enjoyed doing very common things you were "boomer" which everyone at the time knew means bad, and that spread with normalfags so it took away the negative meaning boomer had and is now just this meaningless term.

I think focusing too much on the mistakes of previous generations does a lot of harm.

Notice it enough to not repeat their mistakes, but focusing too much on it creates animosity, and splitting up generations, making it so that young people dont listen to the old, and the old dont pass down anything to the young is exactly what "they" want.

Theres a lot to learn from the older generations, good and bad. Following the older gens without question isnt right, but we shouldnt let the natural inheritance of personal knowledge be lost.

The generational flamewars of making fun of OMG TIKTOK BRAINROT vs OLD OUTDATED etc. is cancerous and ruining every other online space. It adds nothing to any site but just divides us. I'm glad we don't have constant age gatekeeping on this site while also filtering out the stuff from Gen Z we DON'T want without discriminating against younger users.
