I got warned for Rule 8 for this image. Uh, what?

Mods pls explain
>>
The warning was for the comment, which was "#WokeUpLikeThis"

 I'm really not sure how that violates Rule 8 either. Care to explain?

Hashtags like that are twitter/social media culture, and using them here (either in earnest or ironically) is definitively Rule 8

Give teh recently overhauled Rule 8 wiki article a read: https://wiki.heyuri.net/index.php?title=Rule_8

I don't know if it's really a part of the SNS culture (as with other stuff listed in teh wiki page) or just a function on some sites to speak much but
I've seen Japanese incorporating it into other stuff

Quoting Mod-san's defense for deletion of a certain other thing being wrong
>If you're referring to the "[REDACTED FOR IRRELEVANCY]" thing that [REDACTED FOR IRRELEVANCY] seems to have a penchant for (regardless of how irrelevant it is to the topic), it's not "tiktok culture" - it was a viral internet phenomenon/meme that hit the mainstream and got remixed to death like all the others in internet history. Since Tiktok is one of the most popular video-hosting sites in the world right now, naturally it was heavily featured there - but it was also all over every other website (well, except this one) and featured on mainstream news. Hell, even Jim "old, out-of-touch man who hates everything new since 1985" Cornette discussed it on his podcast - that's how I first heard about it :xd:
>That doesn't mean we should have it all over Heyuri (if for no other reason than because it's old and stale), but it's incorrect to file it under "tiktok culture".
By this logic, it also feels wrong to delete any and all posts that use hashtags

in case my wording isn't clear, I meant "like" in "as in" here
examples listed in the page are definitely social media culture and R8

Firstly, the post ur quoting was simply me clarifying that [REDACTED] wasn't TikTok culture (as was being claimed), but that it was instead a shortlived-but-massive viral internet/pop culture phenomenon - I wasn't arguing that it should be kept on Heyuri

Secondly, using hashtags ironically began around the time of "#YOLO" in the early 2010s - regular twitter/social media users were doing it as part of a general social media meme ("hashtag x, hashtag y," etc.), and "ironic shitposters" on imageboards would emulate it by putting them at the ends of their posts to piss other users off. Both the twitter/social media usage and the "I'm doing it ironically" usage are the epitome of kuso 2010s web culture, and therefore it falls firmly under Rule 8
