It feels like there is very little overlap in user base between Heyuri and other English image boards. Most other image board sites fit into a family of similar sites with similar origins. They branched off from 4chan or 8chan or are associated with a specific group of people. Heyuri just popped up out of nowhere and has no genetic connection to the rest of the image boards

dawn pantsu unrelated

well, the original admin lolico got his start on 4/g/ where he talked about making a new website and it was a file uploader at first, not an imageboard yet. but when heyuri was remade as such, it wasn't intended as a place for a certain portion of 4chan's userbase to congregate to as other imageboards have been (/jp/ and /qa/ to kissu, post-gamergate users to 8chan etc.) you could say it is intended as a broader replacement of 4chan in the sense of being a better english-speaking imageboard and generally more fun to use. we've had more influxes of 4chan users come by (some by invitation on our part, others not), but we don't consistently target a single demographic.

Heyuri might seem like it has no connection because a lot of modern slang and memes are banned under rule 7, so the cultural overlap (if you'd call it that) is less obvious. and a lot of people would say thats a positive.

If youre talking cultural genetics chans, heyuri might be comparible to a coelacanth revived by genetic engineering.

that's what makes it better than other english imageboards

Yeah, there's nothing like going over the same three topics in every thread at a slow pace. We're like a Mensa chapter where there's nothing to discuss but how smart we all are for being here.

i have never seen that being discussed here. if you don't like the web site then perhaps you can try not using it. it would be pretty boring if every image board had the same culture and a lot of image boards are boring because they just try to be another generic 4chan lite. i've been regularly using image boards since 2006 and this is the only one worth using to me as of 2026 specifically because it lacks the elements of modern image board culture that i can't stand that every other image board seems to fully embrace.

>i have never seen that being discussed here
I never said anything in specific. I just alluded to the things user on this website bring up regularly
>it would be pretty boring if every image board had the same culture
A culture isn't a restriction on what you can talk about, it's how you choose to react to them.
>i've been regularly using image boards since 2006 and
Wow, you're such an authority on something as unimportant as making posts online. Kewl...

be the change you want to see in the world, as in, try making cool and interesting threads yourself. everyone loves those.

besides, it being slow is a feature imo, not a bug. faster-paced boards generally have lower quality and shorter replies, while slower ones seem to encourage people to put more thought into what they say and how they say it. of course moderation can help with that, but it doesn't seem to be that much of a priority here.
>>
On Heyuri, post quality is not determined by how long or well-written your posts are - instead, it's by how loud teh LOLs and how hard teh b0ners
>>
>>70256
there are good threads but they don't get replies because they aren't in line with what people expect from the website, which is old internet, old anime, lolis, and complaining about other websites being teh sux
