to make your life simpler, pick a year from before 2004 or so, and just watch two shows and play through two games considered classics, and see how you feel then

i was rude but i actually completely get where youre coming from, OP. that said its definitely ahedonia and possibly overdependence on algorithms for content finding.

whenever i look at old anime art from somewhere in the 2000s, i feel inspired, as there was something special then which is lost now, was it teh passion to create something for people to love that had nothing to do with money or "gain". As that sadily has gotten to be standard by today.
