okay true, I did thought about this while cutting earlier, I may become even more unemployable by being covered in these scars

I did it in the first place for the scars though (attention whoring!), because I did want people to notice, but now that my life got a bit more serious then theyre just bad to have, but I still feel the need to cut, being somewhat self aware/"smart" mentally while physically still acting like an idiot is weird(;´Д`)

As someone who's done it for god knows how many times. I think the problem to solve is usually not cutting per se, but what makes you want to cut.
I'm one to think that it's a viable coping mechanism but that's a whole nother can of worms.
For me it's usually due to my intense delusional habit of seeing things in the worst way possible. This of course tips my mental health down into the drain which causes me to harm myself in the first place.

Its gotta be my family and social situation then but especially I have to somehow increase my tolerance to not getting attention 24/7

My family treated me like shit as a child and im an autist and at some point I realized I can get tons of attention by cutting and trashing around and I never turned back as the autism erases all my potential shame

for me, what got me to stop was learning that it's an addiction. the chemicals that are released when u cut can hijack your reward functions. and thats not good

what stop me is that it sounds very painful
