does anyone have any advice on weight loss, ive been working out specifically cardio yet i havent seen any progress maybe its what im eating? or lack of :dizzy: either way i think its cuz i have a slow metabolism is there anything that'll help my metabolism go faster?(;´Д`)
>>
sprinting

eating is a big part, watch the calories. do keep the cardio up but dont eat too little neither, else you'll feel horrible ( ´,_ゝ`)

weight change takes a long long time anywae, yuu must be patient... (・∀・)
>>
I wanna lose weight but i can't stop eating and i am too lazy to work out
>>
its allll calories in, calories out. ive lost 5 lbs in the past two months doing no exercise but just keeping track of my calories and not overeating. i really havent even changed my diet aside from cutting soda except as a treat and just eating smaller portions
>>
Just don't starve yourself for multiple days like a retard, that would slow down your metabolism even more
>>

keeping that in mind ( ´ཀ` )
>>

>>1447
what cal intake do you guys rec cuz im trying to stay at 2 000 cals per day but it seems like it isnt working im just maintaining
>>
>>1450
2000 is about as much as an ordinary person living an ordinary not-entirely-sedentary life burns in one day, so it isn't too surprising that you aren't really moving with that intake. Great for once you've hit a target weight and want to keep it.

Targeting under 1800 will give you more results, but a pound of fat is something like 3000 calories, so don't expect super-fast results anyway. Eating even less will give you faster results, but don't push it: you will probably hate living on like 1400 calories a day every day until you hit your target weight, and your body still wants a certain amount of food to maintain itself.

I found a lot of success with drinking unsweetened green tea to reduce my cravings, but I actually like green tea, so if you don't, then you'll need to find another no calorie (or very low calorie) way to put off wanting to eat something else.
Cutting out soda is also pretty much mandatory (you can have a soda like once in a while, but getting rid of it gets rid of upwards of 200 calories easily).

Exercise is useful, but if you aren't building muscle (and this is /j/, so I suspect you aren't trying to become big and jacked), it doesn't do much for weight loss since much of your calorie burn is from your body maintaining muscle mass. A 20 minute light jog is only like 200 or so calories burned. Being active does increase your general metabolic rate over the day, so you might end up having a higher overall calorie burn anyway, but it still might not be enough, especially if you suspect you have a slow metabolism.

also, one last useful bit: you should notice how many calories you eat when you feel full, so you can make sure to not keep eating after that point
this also lets you guesstimate how many calories you had in something that you can't easily get calorie information on (like a home cooked meal)

ultimately, keep at it (´人`) ヽ(´∇`)ノ
I've lost a fuckton of weight over the last several months.
It's not super hard, but lately I lack the discipline and I still want to lose like 10 more pounds. ( ´ω`)
>>
>>1450
it depends on weight, height, sex, activity level, etc. for me 1700 calories will lose weight so i aim for 1500 so i can work in sweets occasionally
>>
is masturbating a good way to burn energy/calories? i heard it talked about with guys, but i dont know if it also applies to girls...

If nothing else, it's much less boring than exercising! I wish there was a way to just electrically stimulate the muscles for exercising, because the main obstacle I encounter doing it is that it's soooo boring...
>>
>>1456
it burns energy but not very much ( ´ω`)

also, exercising without music or something is dreadful, so if you aren't listening to something while you jog or whatever, change that
>>
>>1456
No. Not even weightlifting burns a lot of calories. Walking and swimming and cycling are the best way exercise wise
>>
>>1466
>>1467
but running takes so longgg... i hate having to spend 3 hours doing it...even podcasts dont help...:cry::cry:
>>
actually i wonder if setting your room temperature lower and sleeping naked might work

i read somewhere that a lot of calories are burned just to keep yourself warm. but you might getbsick if the temperature is too low for too long...
>>
>>1469
being cold makes you more hungry its partly why people gain weight in the winter. so it probably evens out

inject weight loss peptides
they are literally better than regular weight loss now and theyre effortless
they also make you metabolically healthier over time and promote fat storage in healthier fat depots
also theyre like $20 a month if you shop right
>>
>>1480
ozempic and other peptides screw up your system... i would absolutely not do this. theres no information on the long term effects of this stuff
>>
>>1483
live fast
die young(ish)

ain't shit worth sticking around for past 50
>>
>>1483
according to what research?

also dont do ozempic, its overpriced and low quality compared to newer peptides
>>
>>1497
>research
Even the side effects say all this stuff happens...

These are good points, I'd also like to mention that when I was trying to stop drinking so much soda, I started getting these packets of flavored water. They come with caffene variations, and I've found that helps curb the soda cravings.

Also while yes, the general idea is calories in -> calories out, you should also balance your macronutrients.

If you only eat carbs, you'll probably get a sugar crash and be starving, if you only eat fats, you'll probably be satiated more, but you'll be tired and have skin issues. And protien is important as a building block, but your body only uses it as fuel of you're already starving to death, so going only-protien is no good!

But if you make sure all three are balanced, the fat helps you eat fewer calories, the carbs help you stay awake, and the protien keeps your body healthy!

Obviously there's also a balance for micronutrients, but that's more something to talk to a doctor about. I used to use Lifesum when I was actively keeping track of these things, but I just looked it up, and its promoting itself as AI now?! Lmao. Well, there goes my app reccomendation. You could do the same thing by just journaling what you eat, but having an app is nice so you don't have to do as much math.

perhaps you should read them with greater clarity of mind, or at least articulate what you mean better. they alter things yes, but reversibly, and their positive effects on metabolic health are long lasting.

its hard for me to process what you mean by "screw up your system" when they prevent diabetes, cure fatty liver disease, and treat metabolic dysfunction. their side effects are remarkably mild for what they do, providing you do not have a history of pancreatic issues.

>the fat helps you eat fewer calories
That's the most incorrect thing I've heard in a while
>>
>>1523
Is fat not the thing that keeps you satiated?

100cal of fat will be processed different than 100cal of carbs which will be processed different than 100cal of protien

Your body uses fat right away and it stores carbs iirc
>>
>>1525
semi semi
burns fat slowly, doesnt use it right away
tries to use carbs first, but if it cant, stores it as fat
fat is still more worth it, very good source of nutrients
>>
>>1525
>Is fat not the thing that keeps you satiated?
It keeps you satiated because how calorie dense it is. Fat has 9 calories per gram, carbs and protein have 4. Fat heavy foods are a great way of blowing your daily calorie intake quickly.
>Your body uses fat right away and it stores carbs iirc
You have it backwards. Fat gets stored as fat quickly because it's fat and carbs are used up quickly then turned into fat.
>>
>>1529
>Fat heavy foods
Its not like I'm saying you should eat mostly fats, I was just saying if you have a good balance of all three macronutrients, then you can eat fewer calories without being hungry. When I was trying to lose weight, I realized I would get super irritiable and hungry if I didn't make sure there was at least a little fat in my food.

Eh... but then maybe the average person eats more fat without having to remember to add it... I had to increase my protien a lot, increase my fat a little, and decrease my carbs to make up for the calories from those two.

>You have it backwards.
Hmm... maybe I got the fat vs carbs mixed up with simple carbs vs complex carbs? I just remember thinking "its kind of weird that it uses fat right away but goes through all the hassle of turning carbs into fat".

Weight loss is 90% about consuming fewer calories than you need, and that’s basically it. Exercise actually does very little, and cardio even less compared to resistance training. I’d suggest downloading a calorie-tracking app like FatSecret or Cronometer and logging every meal so you can track your diet more easily. I was able to lose more than 10 kilos in a few months that way. You’ll also see how misleading portion sizes can be. For example, you can eat a tiny-ass chocolate and get more calories than half a kilo of salad etc.
