We will have Bunkasai on 19-20 September [Info]

Want your banner here? Click here to submit yours!

Location: Krakow, Poland
Date: October 17th (And afterparty on 18th of varying attendance!)
Invitees: Anyone who wants to come ヽ(´ー`)ノ
Attendees: Rabbitfield [Confirmed](Probably), (Me)* [Confirmed], Kaguya [Possibly]

Why Krakow?
Because the bulk of Heyuri's users are concentrated in Europe and the Middle East, with an apparent plurality located in Poland. We have multiple swedes and some brits too - if you live in those two countries, keep in mind krakow is like, a 50$ ryanair flight away.

How do I prevent myself from being raped or something else bad happening?
That won't happen. Worst come to worst, Kaguya will protect you, as he has a legal obligation to protect all Heyurizens.
Realistically, the only people willing to attend will be Heyuri oldfags who you've probably spoke to anyway (´ー`)

What will we do?
Eat, drink, hang out, n stuff ヽ(´ー`)ノ bring your computers, we'll probably have a LAN party too.

Where at?
Probably in whoever has the nicest hotel lobby or something [idfk?]

Wat do?
If you are seriously interested, please let us know in this thread ヽ(´ー`)ノ
Whether you will attend anonymously or not, you should use a tripcode to facilitate coordination as the days come close.

But I don't want my face associated with this site
We'll have a no camera policy... and unless one of the fellow attendees happens to be your HR supervisor, no one should find out ( ̄ー ̄)

*Some people won't want to associate their face to an online name. I'll attend without saying who I am and a few others probably will too.

I will be there

The only day i dont like is 12th of october because exam

How long will it last? A day or two?
>>
>>194146
Yeah. One afternoon-evening at least, and then maybe the next morning whoevers still there can have breakfast and stuff
>>
I propose October 14th or October 15th!

If you are not used to traveling, try using https://flights.google.com/ - type in your city and see what it costs for you!

what will happen when i get in a room alone with rabbitfield
>>
If it was in Germany i might consider it but Poland a little bit too far for me.
>>
Why can't it be a weekend?
>>
>>194153
It could be. I guess, that might make more sense. I was just picking dates based off airfare discounts

Maybe Oct 17/18?

Wat date works for u?
>>
17/18 works for me. I'll think about coming.
>>
im gonna maek heyuri hachimaki (with a green star) for attendees
>>
>>194154
yes yes weekend plox :3
>>
( ̄ー ̄) Alright folks, we've got 3 can-do's for 17/18 October, going once, going twice... let us know if it works for you!
>>
i think i can do 17/18th
only problem now is how do i tell my family where i'm going and why... (;゚∀゚)
>>
>>194166
Just say its for a hobby convention or something ^^;
>>
>>194167
"a hobby convention for what?"
"uh.. a hobby convention... for... hobbies...?"

now what, organizer-san? you backed me into a hypothetical corner here (;`Д´)
>>
>>194168
Just be honest and say you're meeting up with some online friends, it's not that weird.
>>
>>194168
a uh.. hobby horsing convention of course!
>>
Masks OK? :mask:
>>
>>
It's far from the only limiting factor here, but my passport is expired :sweat2:

And in general, I'd say 1 month is way too short notice for anything involving flights abroad, hotels, etc.
>>
>>194174
Its a little short notice, yeah. But the alternative is trying to get multiple people to agree on a date several months out.. which is almost impossible. Too many uncertainties the farther you go out. It has to be close enough but far enough away..
>>
i looked up price for ticket 2 fly over, i am, 50% in! :x3:
>>
>>194179

Date of event is 17/18 October preliminarily
But we'll let everyone wake up and weigh in before deciding. But we'll make a final decision before bunkasai ends so we can book our tickets as early as possible and save money

:ranta:
>>
Yes, it haz 2 be weekend for it 2 be possible! 17/18 lookz ok, as i can just fuck off from w**k and fly back and forth friday -> sunday.
>>
i'd go if i wasn't living in poverty in america
>>
1000+ USD and missing days from work for a trip from the US is hard to justify even for something so amazing. Would be nice to see US Heyurizens (maybe including Canada and Latin America too?) try to host our own, but I understand that it's hard to justify splitting something like this for a community that's already so small. I probably can't make it this time but I hope it does happen to set a precedent.
>>
>>194201
Yeah ;_;
I made this thread expecting only europeans and those in proximity would be able to attend...

It's too short notice for american users to afford it, but I hope one of the american users takes the flag and organizes a meetup there too
>>
>>194203
NYC heyurizen meet up :sweat2:
>>
personally I'm seeing my chances, it would be cool to awkwardly sit in the corner but my current situation sadly doesn't allow a lot of liberty :sweat2:

I still encourage whoevar can afford the time/moneez to join the meet-up, as I long support IRL events - it's somewhat of a norm in Japanese bulletin board communities too, and would be a huge WIN overall even if turns out to receive a small amount of turnout :nyaoo-closedeyes:
>>
Alright
Meetup in Krakow on Oct 17/18 (Mainly 17th!)

If your gonna come, i recommend booking ur tickets soon to save money!

If anyone needs help with budgeting I can give advice. It cost me just under 200$ including hotel and plane!
>>
GANBATTE
>>
go to https://flights.google.com/ (Unless you have a dedicated airline already), type in your city, and set the destination to krakow. When it comes to dates - different dates are more expensive, generally it will be cheapest to fly out on friday. Toy around with the dates to see which is best

If you're in poland/hungary/east germany you can also consider coming by train
>>
As for hotels, I recommend using either expedia or booking.com

https://www.expedia.com/
https://www.booking.com/

Remember that hotels count nights, not days.

Remember to cross reference reviews with google maps or something similar.
>>
We're all gonna maek it!
>>

i probably won't be able to go to poland due to expense and timing but i'm down for a meetup if we can agree on a time and location
>>
>>194327
