Good luck with that... Way too many things run on the internet nowadays. It depends on where you're from but I'd argue that living a normal life in 2026 without any internet is either super hard or straight up impossible. Of course you lose a shit ton of convenience, but I wonder if there is a roadblock somewhere. Maybe something just doesn't have an offline alternative anymore.
For these people social media is the actual problem not the internet. And since they haven't experienced a life without them it probably feels shocking for a while, they get the urge to become a prophet and spread the word of a great life offline.

You can still do that

I was thinking about this the other day. I read this line in pic rel, and it made me realise that you really can't live without a smart phone nowadays unless your retired. Let alone living without the internet. Where I live lots of Government services now require you to go online, in fact I'm fairly certain paying taxes is required to be digital now

Forgot pic rel TToTT

it's evil, I got robbed a couple years ago and being without a phone made rebuilding everything so fucking stupid and annoying

There's some truth to these shitty video essays, though.

could it be that all these people joining the "log off" movement were already not very online people pre-covid? And developed an internet "addiction" during lockdown ?

maybe they find the internet so disturbing and sinister because they were not net people to begin with (´・ω・` )
