Hypothetically speaking, if I were to make my own imageboard, what would you want to see?

I’ve had the idea of making one since November 2024. It would take some inspiration from oldfag 4chan and other imageboards, but I realized there are already sites… like this one. I could still go in that direction, but I’d want to make sure it actually has something of its own rather than feeling like a worse version of something that already exists… and it’s kinda overdone.

Still, I’ve been thinking about making my own little pet-project site, just as a personal project and something I can experiment with. I have a few ideas already, but I’d genuinely like to hear what other people would want to see

… So yeah, I’m unoriginal and funny… lol.

There is basically an imageboard that exists for every niche, so you're in a saturated market. You can try making something more like a forum like /lounge/ or something┐(゚~゚)┌
>>
Fandom specific site? Everything general has already been done so anons will flock to the site with more PPH. Are there any series you are passionate about?

Why does everyone in their grandma want to make an imageboard as a pet project. Maybe because they get a hard on from being an internet moderator, I don't know. They certainly aren't enjoying some "community" or whatever the fuck excuse they come up with, the sites are all dead as a doornail and look like carbon copies. It's never ever something original. You couldn't find a niche that is more oversaturated with people like you

OP is in his grandma...? Σ(;゚Д゚)

honestly i like the idea of an invite only imageboard with serious themes, basically the opposite of this one

I created an imageboard for a very niche thing I fell in love with. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, it didn't really get any posts except for CP and other spam.
I've decided I'm going to start a forum instead, mainly to post essays about this subject to a couple other people.

my opinion is that creating an imageboard about a "niche" topic isn't a good idead because imageboards are already niche so a broader theme would make more sense, also making a dozen boards doesn't work
