Do you think since the year 2000, American culture has influenced Japan more than Japanese culture has influenced America? Or is it the other way around?

American culture has influenced the entire world massively, beyond any limited scope of anime and manga.

Japan's influence on general public's day to day life is limited with emoji

i think netflix is doing a lot of damage to japan
They are buying up exclusive streaming rights on shows so japanese are forced to use netflix to watch certain tv shows, meanwhile they throw propaganda at them while they are there.

Media dictates culture, values, etc. ( ´_ゝ`)

The US has a culture?

Culture is the common folk's thing, so America doesn't have an own culture. It's just an amalgamation of cultures

What the US *does* have is an hegemony over other cultures outside its borders ('< ' )🪽

Yep. Japan is being dragged kicking and screaming into the American Century.

japanese were pushing boundaries, now the youth complain about having to work and their burger being too small, same as americans

Don't be stupid. America has a culture.
"But it's influenced by other cultures!"
Cool, so was every other culture. Most of japans culture grew out of China's. Only a few countries like China can claim to have a truly original culture.

The entire modern world is american culture. The internet is american culture. Like it or not.

Even anime and manga are a product of American influence. So even if you hold it in high regard it's like further American influence.
