Me too. I pretty much never check it anymore, except to download games, anime, whatever, then go back to being by myself.

Being isolated from society? Pft, everyone on Heyuri is like that. Only a few of us are isolated from the internet society as well..
>>

it feels a bit difficult trying to stay isolated from the mainstream internet because a lot of people on the present internet tend to be quite invasive and unpleasant to deal with...(;´Д`) Seems like some kind of internet cultural shift?
>>
>>185176
I wish more sites had an equivalent of rule 8 for off-site culture ( ´,_ゝ`)

when it started becoming unusable AIDS a long time ago, i pretty much stopped caring about it. i used it only for piracy and occasionally watched some non-AIDS youtube videos - that was about it. then i found heyuri, and now it's basically the same but with heyuri, so it's much bettar \(^o^)/

>I wish more sites had an equivalent of rule 8
yup... i wish vidlii had R8. it has a lot of potential, but it will always be full of cancer
>>
I don't really use it much anymore tbh. I check Heyuri maybe once or twice a day, check a couple other sites maybe once a week, and watch a few channels on YouTube. My main social media usage nowadays is saving loli pics on Pinterest
>>
i wish i could stop caring about it, but sadly im bound to this place by strange and ancient magics. i dont think i will ever let go of what the web used to be, and the hurt that came from seeing it be destroyed by people who never even intended to appreciate it for what it was.
>>
I also use the internet exclusively for Heyuri these days, besides piracy and various 2D porn :nyaoo-closedeyes:

im tired of not being able to make friends online anymore, when did it get so hard p;

a very long time ago i met my partner on 4chan, and i knew many other people who did similar. now most people wouldnt dream of it, and even those sites that are conducive to meeting people from are full of people who ultimately dont want to leave their rooms.

things will really start to ramp up when certain fucks truly gate the internet with the id bullshit and all that; even now the normies are already beginning to not like where things are going, they are still dawdling about, but when shit hits the fan even they will feel too hot; you will hear the noise, and you will see cracks from the shadows on the internet popping up, whistling tunes of freedom away from the decrepit le think-of-the-kids-guys liars.
>>
i think there have been several main issues in the last years that led us to this... the popularization of pads, for example, which exponentially increased the child userbase on the internet, which wasn't something entirely new even before but even when we browsed the internet as children it was usually through our family PC and we would be at least around 7 or so, while you will see literal babies using internet on their pads on the street :glare: ... Which would explain the massive content who could only be apprecaited by an extremely young audience. Another issue I feel like has been the explosion of cheap smartphones and mobile data in developing countries, filled with people who treat the internet similar to how people treated TV in the 50s; they would find anything entertaining, as long as its on their little screen. This caused an enormous trend of absolutely mind-rotting content on mainstream social media apps. Social media as a whole is another issue, I think social media can be entertaining if you find the right niche, which is what I do, but the decentralization of the internet truly is sad to see. 90% of the internet doesn't even use forums anymore, it's like everyone has no hobby anymore and will consume whatever the mainstream algorithm will feed them ┐(゚~゚)┌

yes that was the time period. id say up to about 2019 you could still meet people you met on imageboards irl, but the peak of imageboard to real life friend/lover experiences was between 2011 and 2016 i think.
