https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utility_fog
>Utility fog (also referred to as foglets) is a hypothetical collection of tiny nanobots that can replicate a physical structure.

utility fog always seemed the closest to literal magic that mankind could reasonably attempt to make

unfortunately, we would also probably get fucked and create the abominable gray goo that converts all material it finds into more of itself (;´Д`)
>>
also just how optimistic was the poster maker anyway
if we wanted a space elevator by 2040, you'd need to build it NOW out of materials that don't exist yet (or do something dumb like a space fountain, which uses kinetic energy to hold itself up instead of hypothetical magic hyper-materials, but will collapse if the power is cut lol; we could build that today)

Utility fog could create legal lolis! Before the grey goo consumes us all, I would supply my own grey goo from muh dick.
