the genkan is such a convenient invention. meanwhile we disgusting americans walk around the entire house in our shoes that step in god knows what (ON CARPET YOU CAN'T REMOVE). at this point i have more respect for mexican homes that literally just use dirt floors.

get indoor shoes and change to them whenever you go inside

i don't know which state you live in but i have never done that in my entire life except for times when i knew i was gonna be outside again anyway so i wouldn't bother taking off my shoes for what is a short stay.
otherwise, i always take off my shoes when i go indoors, even when at another person's house. i've always just thought this was expected, like common sense since everyone around me does it too. you're telling me other americans don't do this? :glare:

it depends on the family, it's a lower-class thing. the indian people living across from my apartment, the carpet turned brown from all the dirt on it (;゚Д゚)

That wasn't dirt, Indians just really like to shit on the floor. As a matter of fact, it's one of the essential pillars of their entire culture.

I don't get this shit. My family came from abroad, so we don't keep our shoes on in the house.
It's just a weird, filthy habit to keep them on. Why the hell would you track all that dirt and shit into your home?

when I go over to the houses of white or lightskinned hispanic friends, we all take off our shoes at the door. but my one brazilian immigrant friend's family... the floor was so dirty that if you didn't wear shoes, your feet would be covered in gunk and your socks would be ruined. so you would HAVE to wear shoes in the house, which would make the house even dirtier... (;´Д`)

I'm brazilian, have never in my entire life taken my shoes off before stepping inside my own or somebody else's home, and I think you're a pussy.

you are a monkey and live like a monkey. which is alright if that's what your kind likes, but just don't go to civilized places and track dirt into the house....
