but that also doesn't make sense, if you're not vibrating ur tongue against ur teeth u would have to be vibrating something to make the sound at all
maybe it's a uvular trill, where you are vibrating the uvula, that thing at the back of your mouth (snoring sound basically)

ultimately it comes down to how it sounds, and it sounds about right to me so regardless of how you do it any spanish speaker is unlikely to bat an eye (゚ー`)
