My earliest memory of the web was browsing some kind of Sonic fansite on my grandparents' PC in the late 90s, but I mainly remember using the web around 1999-2000 for cheat sites like Cheat Planet (and printing the pages off)

Around 2001-2002 I was really into Gorillaz and used to browse their site a lot, then got more into online gaming and forums around 2002-2003 (mainly MoH:AA and Vice City related) - mainly thanks to finally having dial-up at home instead of having to use it at family & friends' houses. I started using MSN Messenger and P2P filesharing (Kazaa Lite to begin with) around that time too

By 2003-2004 we had broadband, and I was frequenting the likes of FunnyJunk, various flash/shockwave sites, Habbo Hotel, etc.

around 1995 i started on aol kids only where i would play aol games and work on my homepage and talk in chatrooms. later promoted to the teen setting around 1998 where i mostly spent my time in the evangelion aol message board where everybody would make fun of me. when i started using the real internet instead of aol i spent most of my time browsing and making geocities sites and yahoo clubs/groups and talking on anime message boards. i also spent a lot of time pretending to be a japanese girl in yahoo chat rooms during this period.

Due to the computer viruses scare during the 2000's my siblings and I were not allowed on many sites.
Every site we were told have viruses: youtube, flash game sites, runescape, etc...
My growth was hampered for a long time until my mother finally relented. Though we did get lots of viruses back then so it wasn't an unreasonable scare.
