if thats your art, i think you should do the art. its really charming and whacky.

but i would suggest maybe using thicker lines for the outlines of the characters, so that they are not taken over by your background drawings.

Graphics inform story. Why do I have to fight these other knights? Who is running this martial arts tournament? Why am I fighting other UFOs in space? Why are the birds angry at each other?

if it is, then that's already enough of a story. also if you've never tried creating a story before (or anything creative), then don't expect it to be good the first time you do it. maybe even try and make a terrible silly story that makes no sense on purpose lol, just have fun. you'll figure it out the more you do it.
