Does this creep you out? (・∀・)
I always find a lot of stuff labled "uncanny valley" doesn't cross that threshold for me, rarely do I find anything that can actually cause me to recoil from it. When I do, it feels like a mix between visceral disgust and fear.
We can thank Japan for naming this phenomenon:
"As related to robotics engineering, robotics professor Masahiro Mori first introduced the concept in 1970 from his book titled Bukimi No Tani (不気味の谷), phrasing it as bukimi no tani genshō (不気味の谷現象; lit. 'uncanny valley phenomenon')."

So yeah. ヽ(´ー`)ノ

this one's a classic (RIP Eric Fournier)
good example of one that used to freak me out but doesn't anymore (probably because i'm an adult now and know it's just a mannequin face)
looking for material to grab has made me numb which i think is the weakness of the uncanny valley - once your brain is trained to expect it, it loses it's shock value (´~`)
>>
this one got me, though (^Д^)
tip: open in a random tab and leave it for 5 minutes, then come back and you'll have a pleasant surprise waiting ( ´ω`)

My theory is that the body interprets an almost-but-not-quite human as a dead person, dead person = nearby danger, danger = fight-flight-freeze response

I'm a grown ass man but when I see scary pictures I cannot help but check my closet before going to bed. I've lived alone for many years and know damn well there is nothing in my closet but I couldn't sleep until I did. It's weird how irrational we can be

this img is perfect for rabbitfield

i guess here is mainly the frontal facing eyes teeth and posture that makes it look like a predator ready to pounce you

The Uncanny Valley doesn't really bother me all that much. What's more frightening in these pictures is the darkness or the posture as >>179047 put it. But if I isolate the face itself from the rest of the image, it isn't very frightening.

No it dosn’t as G-D is protects his kids
