good example of one that used to freak me out but doesn't anymore (probably because i'm an adult now and know it's just a mannequin face)
looking for material to grab has made me numb which i think is the weakness of the uncanny valley - once your brain is trained to expect it, it loses it's shock value (´～`)

tip: open in a random tab and leave it for 5 minutes, then come back and you'll have a pleasant surprise waiting ( ´ω`)

I'm a grown ass man but when I see scary pictures I cannot help but check my closet before going to bed. I've lived alone for many years and know damn well there is nothing in my closet but I couldn't sleep until I did. It's weird how irrational we can be

i guess here is mainly the frontal facing eyes teeth and posture that makes it look like a predator ready to pounce you

The Uncanny Valley doesn't really bother me all that much. What's more frightening in these pictures is the darkness or the posture as >>179047 put it. But if I isolate the face itself from the rest of the image, it isn't very frightening.
