that doesn't have anything to do with computers...
>>
>>168572
Have you checked craigslist? There's always someone selling cheap computers on there. For specific models the HP Z workstations are pretty swag and the Fujitsu towers look nice if you can find them, but an Optiplex with an i7 or even a core 2 duo will work in a pinch. You're going to be updating stuff anyways so you might as well get something that's cheap and easy to update.

>high res screen
Oh, I thought "pasokon" mean PC, as in a desktop. Anyways Dell Latitudes are alright.
>>
I got 1440p 240hz for under 300$
It was previously returned by the customer, it normally was like 800$
Really I could not find anything making it bad, probably dude just did not enjoy it as much as he wished and returned it, it has been working for over a year

>high res screen
pick one

why?

>>168585
cool, but a laptop and not desktop.

>>168586
this is neat!

asus zenbook looks damn sweet, but i could might aswell just buy and old think thinkbook, but idk what models are good.
>>
>>168607
because on a high res screen everything looks tiny and doesn't scale properly
>>
>>168608
i dont think that's true... ( ´_ゝ`)
>>
Yeah, i agree. My current screen is 2.6K which looks amazing! It would suck to downngrade such good screen to a merily pity sad 1080p screen which commoners use. :xd:

devilish trips (;゚Д゚)

You're so used to X11 you've forgotten Linux is amazing on hi-res screens when you use a non-dogshit display server like Wayland!!
Come to the side with fractional scaling support.

Zenbooks (and all Asus laptops) have terrible quality control
>>
>>168700
can't stand gaming with gayland nerds because it can't do push to talk so all i hear is their loud ass chinese plastic keyboards and their "autism noises".
also xlibre scales just fine.
>>
>>168700
I don't need fractional scaling support when on 1024x768, the only good resolution everything is scaled perfectly. That's as high as my CRT will go without giving me a headache and I wouldn't have it any other way.
>>
>>168719
Why are you just making lies up? When has Wayland ever not supported push to talk lol works perfectly fine on Counter-Strike and Quake
>>
>>168719
Xlibre is a fork made by a schizophrenic racist who was booted off the X11 git repository for making too many broken commits that fucked up X!

>schizophrenic racist
You're saying it in a way that implies that it's supposed to be a bad thing.

what even happened to this thread, what are you lot even going on about (;´Д`)

as for OP, have you considered a system76 machine
>>
Thanks! Never heard of system76 but it sure did catch my attention! Is pop OS good? Seems to be very liked?
>>
>>168953
Pop_OS! has a problem with being Ubuntu-based, so package management is all over the place.... HOWEVERRRR it is also the birthplace of COSMIC, which is already a better desktop environment than GNOME and is shaping up to be the second best desktop environment after KDE.... So I'd absolutely recommend it for power-users who do a lot of work or stuff like 3DCG & programming

It's also quite secure for a desktop environment, full adoption of Wayland portalling & entirely written in memory-safe languages, so feds can't take advantage of RCEs in public WiFi to keylog ur poop&shit and find out who you are and where you live
>>
>>168884
within a game, no shit. but not for actual chat software unless you have the program currently focused because gayland can't do global hotkeys. i seriously have to deal with linux click claks every time I talk to these people
>>168885
why are you just making lies up?

>why are you just making lies up?
being dishonest is a prerequisite of not being racist
